Still, I have a hard time seeing that taking off quite yet, at least in that form, because:

1. Have you tried to wear 3D glasses over normal glasses? Not fun. Electronic glasses I doubt are any better in this regard.

2. There are still people without HDTVs. They probably won't spring for a 3DTV, and I expect people who just bought into HD will want to go to 3D yet, especially when, currently, there's so little need for it.

Actually, the shark vs. airplane scene is really the only part of that movie worth watching. The rest of it is really awfully in a...you know...just so bad it's bad kinda way.

Also, when Ving Rhames tells you to get out of the water because of flesh eating devil fish, you either get the fuck out of the water or you get what's coming to you.

Part of the problem with monster movies is that people are either stupid or assholes and they don't listen to the trained professional scientists trying to save their asses.
