And now...I bring you, The Journal of Kris.

(AKA something I decided to whip up to keep ya'all entertained while we wait for Token's problems to go away.)

Entry 1: "A New Player."

Hi, if anyone decides to read this, my name is Kris. I'm a trainer of Pokemon, though I'm not sure if I've got any kind of specialization. I just prefer to get things done in a hurry, and move on.

I'm currentally writing this in Goldenrod, just having bought a journal and a little camera. I'll try to get as many pictures taken as I can, though sometimes I might just forget. I'm a little scatterbrained about that. *Gives a weak smile*

Anyway, let me introduice my team.

Here is my starter, Quilava. He just evolved as I was leaving Ilex Forest. He's a quiet sort, and doesn't like to fight.

This is Dunsparce. The first one I've ever caught. While Quilava doesn't like to fight, she relishes it, and so far has defeated both Falknor and Bugsy on her own. It's like she's permantly PMSing or something...

Hoothoot. Not much to say about him. Seems really pathetic and cowardly if you ask me.

My bellsprout was rather sad, and not that good in a fight, but ever since I gave it a Miracle Seed and tought it Cut, it's performance has remarkably improved.

And now we reach my last one: Poliwag. He's quite the hypnotist, but his attack ability is rather weak otherwise.

Oh, hey, the nurse just asked for me.

Me: "Hey, thanks."

Anyway, on my way up here, I spotted a sleeping Nocowl in a tree. Seeing as my Hoothoot has been fairly pathetic, I decided this an upgrade oppertunity. After knocking it down with a rock, I sent out a Bellsprout and used it's fairly weaker attacks to chip it down to the point where I can capture it in a ball.

Headed to the computer, I notice a few other people here. Is it just a hangout spot, or is the gym here that hard?

Anyway, I activate it and look at my storage.

I use the built-in stat checker, and examine Hoothoot and the Noctowl I just got.

Seems I've got a decision to make. I'll sleep on it, and get to you in them morning.

Yes, I'm fairly nocturnal. Doesn't help I'm fairly light sensitive, and bright sunlight hurts my eyes.

Anyway, I head back to the forest to give him a chance to fight, and to see how he performs.

Ran into a guard, who seemed to have some kinda beef with me or something.

I wonder if this is the same Keith that Ellis keeps talking about in Left 4 Dead 2...

Fire-type eh? I know just the thing...

Poliwag, you know what to do.

Perfect.

Be glad I didn't send out Dunsparce. Otherwise you'd be down a dog.

And I hope you dry it off soon...nothing's worse then wet dog.

Anyway, I head south a little more, and I see something a little curious.

Some guy just spinning around in place... why is he doing that?

I just move on, trudging though some grass, when suddonly...

Ditto!

Oh, and for those who are wondering, the crossed out one is an egg that I was given to watch for some reason. What am I? A chicken or something?

Where was I...oh yeah, the Ditto.

I decide it's a good chance to use my new Noctowl.

O'RLY? *Brick'd*

And it even turns into a pokeball! No, seriously, note the color. Exactly the same.

Anyway, I spend some time getting to know her in the forest, then I head back up north when I get called out. I look around and see a girl approach.

Me: No. I only battle for real.

No, seriously. This ain't a practice battle.

And now you'll pay for not paying attention.

A fatal woooooound!

There was a second Hoppip, but it was knocked out so fast I forgot to snag a picture.

Huh, that's new.

Me: Damn, no one-shot victory here.

Yet it failed to capitalize it's extra turn of survival.

Me: Maybe if you didn't try "practice battles" and actually worked at it...And diversified your team...

Me, thinking: Kris, get your mind out of the gutter, and stop imagining her in a cheerleader outfit.

So she's a cheerleader, and a thief?

Me: I'm not just some pawn shop you know...

But I can use the money.

Get a-thieving there stickyfingers.

Anyway, what wasn't shown was me and Noctowl battling. Well, I got some idea as to the personality. I'll make mention of her next time.

Not a bad update. Not much on the humour side as I suspect thios is more straight laced.

Really happy to see this back, and Flare's updates are a good bonus to.

I never cared for Chikorita before, but I actually chose it on my first play through of Heart Gold. I mostly did it as a joke, because my two other friends had Typhlosion and Feraligator, but the little plant-thing grew on me. After a while, I just couldn't let her go.

Me: I want to add that Metagross to my team really badly, but I just don't have any room in my team. Damn it!
Friend: Dude, just get rid of the fucking Meganium.
Me: I can't! I've grown to attached! Don't make me get rid of her!
Friend: Just drop the damn thing in the PC!

I really wish I could bring myself to put together that support Meganium I have in my to-do list. But I can't, because I think it'd be a waste of time. I already have a screener, several healing and other random support options... why waste my time making a sub-par version of what I already have superior options for?
