haha, yeah right, lets find a way to blame bush for everything. did you two even read what everyone else has said? the whole draft idea was started by democrats, democrats against the war no less. every commander and general in the armed service(or at least a majority) do not want a draft. its too expensive, leads to less trained troops who are less motivated, and a mass of soldiers is not useful on the battlefield of today and tomorrow. there are enough volunteers enlisting to where they have to turn people away.
but sure, keep with your ignorant thinking, bush is dumb and evil and just wants to kill more babies.

Even if we are drafted, keep in mind...
VERY few of us will die. We're superior to their military in so many ways it hurts. We're the most overequipped army in the world. They even have special GI issue toothbrushes for chrissakes. If you're scared of it, like I was for a second, just remember that. Personally, I'm more scared of boot camp. ~Darius099

Their military isn't the problem. It's that their 'soldiers' are all over, and we don't know who they are. Britain are the ones who need to be handling Baghdad - urban warfare is a speciality.

Wish it was that simple, assuming the draft happens, there are prevention measures in place for Canada. Mexico is not exactly a lovely desination either, but it could be the 'replacement'.
Fully agree about the comments, except replace Exxon with 'OPEC' and religion with 'Media Fear-Mongering Facist State'. V.T.

thoughts from the inside
I'm in the military, the navy to be exact, and even though its not that bad, I wouldn't reccommend that anyone with half a brain and a decent chance join. Unless you really don't like thinking for yourself, you are better off just getting student loans and going to college.
After reading that article about a new draft I was filled with incredible dread for a few minutes. I had visions of a quiet take over of our country performed by radical communist movements. I saw freedom becoming a thing of the past and the ignorant populace just bending over and taking it. I saw for a moment the horror of a lifelong war, and I almost cried. After I got a hold of myself and logic-ed away the whole thing, I realized how precarious our liberty really is. the real enemy isn't the one we grunts fight, its the bastards that are trying to destroy our country behind our backs. If this country starts forcing people to give up their lives for war, I will renounce my citizenship. What is the point of protecting a bunch of paranoid delusional reactionaries? They should all die anyways, they deserve it. Toying with peoples lives is worse than killing them, at least death affords you some dignity. Last edited by Zoamelgustar; 05-27-2004 at 12:15 AM. |

I was being sarcastic.
And I also did say 'if this even happens'. The bill hasn't even been touched in like, a year. V.T.

That's fine.
I've got plenty of other things to blame Bush for, I don't need to bother blaming him with things he didn't do, since I can just blame him for... oh... I don't know... Going to war for a reason that was entirely false? So yeah, I don't need to bother blaming him for stuff he didn't do, I've got plenty of ammo already. ~Darius099
