It is a nice idea, isn't it?
I kinda thought of it as a way to flesh out the buffet of NPCs. And Dracorion's idea for a title is awesome. Umbral Lite, it is. Or wait, UmbraLite. There we go, effin' perfect. I'll create it this weekend assuming y'all weren't kidding about the whole thing. I even have the first villain planned out. The character's going to be so silly that Team Rocket's Jessie and James will need to take notes. |

Interesting. Although I'm hoping the actual RP won't slow to a stop.
BTW, when does this Umbral Lite takes place Chronologically? And do we consider it all canon? On another note, abilities and modified hitpoints have pretty much been completed for the data-base. Just sorting out gender and then the tough part of move-sets/items. |

It has some chronological flow to it, but loosely, kinda like "this happened between Mission 3 and Pierce's Sidequest" thing.
And I do intend for it to be canonical despite its utter silliness. |

Ah. Renny around that time would be in human form. Not a problem though. ^^
BTW, I've left messages for you with questions. |

Would we play as just the usual Cast of characters, or different dudes entirely?

You could create new characters, and probably have them join the main party if you so desire.
Hell, create a whole wacky squad of dysfunctional misfits with weapons. Menarker, I'll get to those questions soon. Promise. Oh, incidentally, would you be interested in working on the new Pokemon with me? I was kinda thinking of coming up with name, type(s), Pokedex entry, some moves (while leaving the floor open for the rest of you to decide some moves for them), and where they would specialize stat-wise. If you're interested, I was thinking about asking you to assign actual statistics to them based on my recommendations. If you don't, it's cool. No problem with working on these myself. I'm jus' putting it out there since you seem to like Pokemon tweaking. |

Sure, I'll be happy enough to help. ^^
In case you haven't noticed already, I provided some help already with new pokemons. I listed all the types combination that did not exist yet. All in the messages. :3 Last edited by Menarker; 05-06-2011 at 12:40 AM. |

I came up with a really stupid idea while chatting with Menarker.
Maybe instead of a PATCA-based UmbraLite, we could actually do a more traditional Pokemon RP which the same level of wackiness. It'll still be UmbraLite, using low level statistics with small groups to create speedy, small scale, humorous battles. The idea is that you're all young kids who just reached the age to go on a journey, though the Pokebrid and Slayer classes will also be available in addition to the Pokemon Trainer. You meet Professor Ricewood, the Trainers collect their Honmyr original starters, and go on an epic journey, fighting strange enemies and whatnot, with low level Pokemon and everything. Just stop me if I'm being a weird boy again. EDIT: I guess nobody likes the idea. Oh, well. Menarker, I came up with the first nine entries of the Honmyr Pokedex. Here are the rough drafts of them... Honmyr Pokedex Guide 1. Snapdry 2. Draflora 3. Mandragor 4. Firefur 5. Charabid 6. Fiernarog 7. Segrift 8. Aerochnid 9. Abysslayer * Starter Pokemon & Evolutions - 1. Snapdry (Grass) [Biting Plant Pokemon] Pokedex Entry: Feeds on a rather steady diet of small bug Pokemon. They usually hunt alone and only at night unless their only choice of prey happens to be a more powerful foe. Evolutionary Line: Snapdry > Draflora > Mandragor Moves: Acid, Bite, Draco Meteor, Dragon Claw, Dragon Rush, Flail, Flash Cannon, Frenzy Plant, Leaf Blade, Leaf Storm, Outrage, Shadow Ball, Synthesis Ability: Overgrow Statistic Potential: HP=2, Att=2, Def=2, SpAtt=2, SpDef=2, Spd=3 - 2. Draflora (Grass/Dragon) [Floral Predator Pokemon] Pokedex Entry: Draflora have moved up from dining on various Bug types. They are known to hunt down Pokemon as large as adult humans. Evolutionary Line: Snapdry < Draflora > Mandragor Moves: Acid, Bite, Draco Meteor, Dragon Claw, Dragon Rush, Flail, Flash Cannon, Frenzy Plant, Leaf Blade, Leaf Storm, Outrage, Shadow Ball, Synthesis Ability: Overgrow Statistic Potential: HP=2, Att=3, Def=3, SpAtt=3, SpDef=3, Spd=4 - 3. Mandragor (Grass/Dragon) [Forest King Pokemon] Pokedex Entry: Known to protect forests from those who would destroy them since ancient times. Mandragor are capable of living for over a thousand years and occasionally reach incredible size. Evolutionary Line: Snapdry < Draflora < Mandragor Moves: Acid, Bite, Draco Meteor, Dragon Claw, Dragon Rush, Flail, Flash Cannon, Frenzy Plant, Leaf Blade, Leaf Storm, Outrage, Shadow Ball, Synthesis Ability: Overgrow Statistic Potential: Hp=3, Att=3, Def=4, SpAtt=3, SpDef=4, Spd=5 - 4. Firefur (Fire) [Fiery Dog Pokemon] Pokedex Entry: These red, unhealthy beasts are difficult to tame, but fierce allies under the right trainer. They use their own surprising internal heat to forge their large claws and cook their slaughtered victims. Evolutionary Line: Firefur > Charabid > Fiernarog Moves: Cross Poison, Crunch, Dig, Earthquake, Fire Fang, Flamethrower, Gastro Acid, Gunk Shot, Inferno, Magnitude, Overheat, Poison Fang Ability: Blaze Statistic Potential: HP=2, Att=3, Def=2, SpAtt=2, SpDef=2, Spd=2 - 5. Charabid (Fire/Poison) [Rabid Dog Pokemon] Pokedex Entry: Their exhalations are visible and toxic and their saliva can eat holes into flesh. Charabid are extremely aggressive, can smell a victim from over a mile away, and will chase their prey for days on end. Evolutionary Line: Firefur < Charabid > Fiernarog Moves: Cross Poison, Crunch, Dig, Earthquake, Fire Fang, Flamethrower, Gastro Acid, Gunk Shot, Inferno, Magnitude, Overheat, Poison Fang Ability: Blaze Statistical Potential: HP=3, Att=4, Def=2, SpAtt=3, SpDef=2, Spd=3 - 6. Fiernarog (Fire/Poison) [Demon Hound Pokemon] Pokedex Entry: With dangerous toxins dripping from their superheated fangs, a grazing bite from one of them will be a memory never forgotten. A hungry Fiernarog can easily depopulate a small village, leaving only burning carnage in its wake. Evolutionary Line: Firefur < Charabid < Fiernarog Moves: Cross Poison, Crunch, Dig, Earthquake, Fire Fang, Flamethrower, Gastro Acid, Gunk Shot, Inferno, Magnitude, Overheat, Poison Fang Ability: Blaze Statistical Potential: HP=4, Att=5, Def=3, SpAtt=4, SpDef=2, Spd=3 - 7. Segrift (Water) [Drifting Pokemon] Pokedex Entry: Often seen in colonies drifting along ocean currents. Their specially-created spider webs can catch both sea and air currents, allowing it to fly above the ocean surface in order to avoid oceanic predators like Sharpedo. Evolutionary Line: Segrift > Aerochnid > Abysslayer Moves: Aqua Jet, BubbleBeam, Bug Bite, Extrasensory, Gust, Hydro Cannon, Ice Beam, Icicle Crash, Muddy Water, Rain Dance, Scald, Spider Web Ability: Torrent Statistical Potential: HP=2, Att=2, Def=2, SpAtt=3, SpDef=2, Spd=2 - 8. Aerochnid (Water/Bug) [Drifting Dread Pokemon] Pokedex Entry: When Segrift evolve, they leave the ocean, rarely returning to fill up on water. They instead remain aloft for days, even months or years, changing their diet from small fish to larger birds. Evolutionary Line: Segrift < Aerochnid > Abysslayer Moves: Aqua Jet, BubbleBeam, Bug Bite, Extrasensory, Gust, Hydro Cannon, Ice Beam, Icicle Crash, Muddy Water, Rain Dance, Scald, Spider Web Ability: Torrent Statistical Potential: HP=3, Att=3, Def=2, SpAtt=4, SpDef=2, Spd=3 - 9. Abysslayer (Water/Bug) [Whale Eater Pokemon] Pokedex Entry: When Aerochnid finally evolve once more, they return to the ocean and remain there, hunting deep sea Pokemon up to and including Wailord with their flesh-rending mandibles and berserker-like aggressiveness. They do this to establish themselves as top predators in the sea. Evolutionary Line: Segrift < Aerochnid < Abysslayer Moves: Aqua Jet, BubbleBeam, Bug Bite, Extrasensory, Gust, Hydro Cannon, Ice Beam, Icicle Crash, Muddy Water, Rain Dance, Scald, Spider Web Ability: Torrent Statistical Potential: HP=4, Att=4, Def=3, SpAtt=5, SpDef=3, Spd=3 No, this isn't all the moves available to each. If you ask questions about this being all their moves, I'll have a Necromorph jump out of a vent in the RP, kill you before you can react, and flee, never to be seen again, and we'll all be left wondering what the hell it was. This is the idea I have for the setup of these new Pokemon. I'm not sure how many Pokemon I intend to really create but I really wanna create 150 of them. ... Maybe even make a Pokerap. I'm not sure. So, uhhh, any questions so far? Last edited by Astral Harmony; 05-07-2011 at 12:41 AM. |

I guess no questions at this point.
Drac, how have you been holding up lately? Everything ok on your end? EDIT: I realized something that is totally crazy... >_> Shedinja's Pokedex details are as follows: Ruby version: Shedinja's hard body doesn't move - not even a twitch. In fact, its body appears to be merely a hollow shell. It is believed that this Pokémon will steal the spirit of anyone peering into its hollow body from its back. Pearl/Diamond/Platinum/Black/White: A discarded bug shell that came to life. Peering into the crack on its back is said to steal one's spirit. And yet in the games (and presumably any time you send a pokemon out to battle since trainers are facing directly opposite of each other when fighting) Shedinja's back is always facing the trainer that sends it out! >_< Jesus, talk about suicidally reckless! Makes me wonder how the Dark and Whitney didn't lose their souls already. ^^; Then again, one would wonder why Shedinja doesn't just instant win the battle by having it fight backwards and showing off its back to its opponent... or the opposing trainer. :3 A Shedinja pokebrid would be a pest if that pokedex article was true... ... on that line of thought, I wonder what would happen with a pokebrid that chooses a pokemon that could learn self-destruct/explosion. Geesh, probably taken by suicidal and sterotypical emo people... Last edited by Menarker; 05-09-2011 at 03:13 PM. |

Don't give me ideas, Menarker. That's a very dangerous road you're trekkin'.
Shannon: "So this one time, at band camp, I took a flute and I blew on it, and this magical tornado sent me to World 6." ... Please don't ask. I dunno, either. |
