Considering my tastes in anime - fantasy settings in general, some very specific mecha anime and, sometimes, other things ( like mawaru penguindrum and nichijou and to aru majutsu no index and the world god only knows ) - the last few seasons haven't been helping aside from uh, Sword Art Online.

Also, anyone else sort of think it was supposed to be Dulalala? You know, since one of the main characters is a Dullahan? |

So, Hayate was perfect, in that it was everything I like week-to-week in the comic plus color, motion, and sound. I can understand if someone doesn't like it for not being a continuation of the story, given that Hayate's back story would be pretty cool to see animated, what with the castle and all.
Shin Sekai Yori doesn't suck and has the potential to stay that way, which is good. Or bad, given that it could waste all this potential. Hope it doesn't. Wooser was silly and delivered on Miyano saying things.

I saw the first episode of Shin Sekai Yori yesterday. It looked really good, let's see how it goes.

So Sword Art Online's first part is over.
Thoughts? |

I… I didn't watch it. How marathon-able do you think it is? Like, do you think I could just watch the entire thing tomorrow and not hate life? I'm pretty sure I said I'd watch it if you said it was worth watching, and you did, so at this point I'm not living up to my end of the bargain.

My thoughts on SAO
Still, despite that, the first arc in general was pretty good. I won't be watching the second arc though, because I looked into the setting and plot and boy is it stupid. Mild SAO Arc 2 spoilers Here's a preview image for the next arc They have pointy ears and wings!

On SAO:
I've been told by people that they felt it was rushed, even though the light novel works in stupid chronological order and was just as rushed - first volume has the first couple of episodes and then those last two, everything in between was a side story published later on, from what I've seen. |

This may be a touch off topic seeing as it's not about the current anime season, but Hulu recently put up the english subs of Madoka Magica so if you're like me and missed this gem in its first run, then there you go.
Also, holy shit, that show.

It helps that it's a short show, but I've watched them there Madokas, like, three times. _mike has watched it at least twice that amount; watching each episode as it came out, then subbed with me, then through the blurays a few times.
So, yeah, it's not the best story or the best characters or the best animation, but it all pulls together to be something worth six hours of your time, definitely.
