Tommathy, I'm sure you could have a website of your own and everyone would flock to it.

On the topic of post counts, there are discussions of having them removed. I find that people boast about post counts way too much and use them as leverage for ego boosting and 'bigger dick' contests. So we'll just see.

I am totally for that. I've never completely understood why they're there in the first place, if not to simply give people a source of pride or faux-authority. I've seen it occur one too many times where people will pull the "i've got 20,000 posts and you've only got 19,999- i'm right 'n yer wrong and i can piss farther than you can" card. If people are surgically attached to their post counts, I would advocate them keeping a tally on their own accord.

As for the members, I think there's a substantial amount of lurkers. I've actually located their hideout. They like BBQ and Doritos.

I have accounts on some message boards that I have never posted in, but read everyday. This is because, in the event that I want to send PMs or actually contribute something, I could. On this board, for instance, I get tons of PMs every day from people with no posts.* That could be the explanation!

*this is a lie.

One thing that almost every new member says when he makes an introduction thread or a spam thread is "Geeze, I didn't know everyone is so strict here". This leads me to believe that they came from a forum with no rules or restrictions. The first forum I think of that matches this description is the gamefaqs board. "But why did they come here?" you ask. Because most of the members there are final fantasy fanboys, and I don't think I have to remind you of what 8-bit is based on. So when they find out that there are consequinces to spamming and double posting, they get scared and never post again.

As someone with a low post count i think i should be able to speak for some of the others. Many times when i think about posting i end up not doing it because i feel like it doesn't contrubite much. And seeing other posters with high counts can be a bit intimidating, especially if your first post makes you look kinda stupid.

Deleting all users who have not logged in for the past 3 months.

They don't need their post counts anyways.

And concerning post counts, if I can figure out how to remove them I probably will.

If it were in Java, I'd say go into the "user account" class and delete all methods and variables dealing with postcount. But, obviously, the forums are not in java.

Yeah, and there isn't an option for such in the admin panel. But I will prevail.
