I updated my DA again, so here are a few pictures from said update:
I really like the thick lined style of TWEWY, so I did a couple of drawings from it. Hal Jordan as a Green/Blue Lantern Cover from Blackest Night Guess who? Sorry about the size issues, but my choices were either small or really big to post here. Since we don't have spoiler2 tags anymore, I had to go with small to not fill up your screens. |

Not exactly a 'sketch' persay, but a friend came to me expressing extreme dissatisfaction on every source she's been to about a background for her blog. Some idears have been kickin around in my head and here's the progress thusfar
Shrunk down quite a lot, but the elements are all crisp enough to see well enough. Was just dickin around and then a theme came together: more retro-y and rounder organic textures (dirt, ivy, roundness) and shape overlays on the left fading into wood for the central sheet of paper to contrast with her love of more mechanical and hard edged broken down machinery and retro type stuff. Pushing the boundaries, here's a sketch I made. . . in clay!

You did pretty well on the body, Masaki, but the hands and head need work.
I'll start with the hands. It looks like your biggest problem is that you didn't really account for the joints in the fingers. They have an odd bend to them. They also look abnormally flat. I personally have trouble with hands (seriously, hands and feet both suck, but at least feet you can hide with shoes), but as a kibitz, I'd say to try to remember a hand's blocking amounts to a puck on a stick with five twigs coming out of it, and the bottom of the palm is more padded than the rest. The face needs to have a standard angle, mostly. The chin is too recessed, the widow's peak is far off center, and the bottom on the nose needs to be much closer to the top lip. The face overall seems a bit tilted, which fits with the ears, but not the hair. The perspective is also a bit wonky on the legs. The problem starts at the cuffs of her shorts. Her nearest leg should be the lower one despite her hips being turned (which is actually done very well, good job!) unless she's supposed to be on a stool, because as she is, it looks like her nearer thigh is shorter than the one behind it, which only works for foreshortening, which only happens as the limb faces the viewer. Overall, you're on the right track with the torso and arms and hips, which are beautiful, but you need to fix the other issues. Don't be discouraged, though. It will help a lot to imagine it more in 3D.

This is old.
I guess it's... Halloweenish? I dunno. A glowy-eyed monster lurking under a viaduct. In green. Yay. I messed up quite a bit on the monster, but I like how the green worked out.

Someday I will be sick of drawing Metal Gear. Today is not that day.
Batgirl- Aaah so awesome! The skull one is fantastic really.
Skweeb - That is really cool. You should go into website design or something because that's really awesome. IQ - Woaah. At first I thought it might have been carved wood because of the marks on it, but it looks really awesome. Masaki - The biggest thing that I would do is just move the face over a little. It seems to be looking over further than the head is, and work on the hands. (her right arm seems a bit long too) But that body is really fantastic (that sounds kind of dirty) I'm jealous of the collar and where the corset meets the rest of the shirt, those parts are really hard to do (for me anyway) and you did it really well! Mauve - That's amaaazing. I love the coloring on it. Now for random sketchdump--- Metal Gear Paintchat last night, I was a little less active than usual because I was trying to work on commissions instead. :\ Speaking of commissions, this is what Bells got for his $2. Rip off? Deal? You decide! I take the best notes in class... Also my handwriting is horrendous, don't look at it.

Incidentally, and I know this is confusing for perspective, she's leaning on a counter which is imaginary. I sketched it then kept going with her lower body cause I wanted to draw her hips and boots- since her clothing and body type have changed in the last couple centuries.
