Want to pick up an artist's interest in the work? Put forth the effort of the visual attempts as one puts into defending and fretting about all the trivial details that (to be quite frank) just isn't interesting right now with the cavalier attitude towards the current artwork. |

Kyanbu, you seem to fall to pieces frequently when someone gives you criticism, or you find out you have used a trope, to name a few examples.
And honestly, drop the name. Naming an 'art' style something like 'black and velvet' is absolutely ludicrous, and is a goos way to get any potential artist worth their salt to look at you like a joke, like some little kid who thinks he knows everything and truly knows nothing. Seriously, it sounds like something one of any of hundreds of kiddies who post in the art forums at Gaia would come up with. Also, I really do fail to see what's new with it. I see no significant difference from your previous artwork. The anatomy still looks like it was never learned, just copied until the most basic shape (with vague notion of function/internal structure) is able to be produced. The face still looks like features drawn onto a balloon, no sense of depth (and again, no notion of an internal structure). If you want to get better, learn anatomy, and take life-drawing. And don't believe that since you're drawing anime-inspired or comic inspired or etc. that life drawing is a waste of time. It will give you the fundamentals that you need to be able to draw. Even exaggerated figures need to have an understanding of the form, of anatomy, in order to be able to be constructed well. Also, on "an artist who can be trusted", you do realize that, for a project that's intended to be commercial like you seem to intend yours to be, you will likely have to pay them, correct? And not after it's finished. You will need to pay them a good chunk up front as well, because they will have living expenses to take care of when giving time to your project.

As for my freak outs, as it's plainly seen on my thread and on every site I've ever posted this on (7 to be exact), only 3 people each on 3 different sites has ever commented in my thread/post in the past year. Which means I've must of fucked up real bad with the story (aside from skipping 36+ episodes/chapters ahead of the story but I doubted anyone would care about that since it would all get posted anyway besides it seriously needed a lot of rewriting since half of it is was just terrible the way it was). So yeah I'm really trying to fix the problem but it's hard to do when the only 3 people post about it regularly. It's pointless to argue that they look that way on purpose since it still comes out as a design flaw. So I know that I'm not ever going to get away with that. I'll admit that naming a style was possibly them dumbest thing I've ever done.

Writing and drawing are core parts of your project. If you're spending so much time on it, you had damn well better get good at doing both, because it's going to take a while before it becomes marketable at the snail's pace you've been taking in making it marketable. Like Skweeb said, if you put half the effort into improving yourself that you put into defending your work, you could actually get something workable.

I do when it comes to writing. The core reason updates are slow is because I'm always constantly rewriting a scene refining it to make as much sense and be as original as possible as well as learning more and improving as a writer. I'd rather take forever getting it to it's marketable level if it means the story will be good if not great. That's just how I roll.

*cough* Sorry. That dances right into the territory of my biggest pet peeve in the world. Anyway, you don't have any desire to get better so I'm not going to write a big post arguing otherwise, instead I'll just move on to... Loyal - I really like his right hand. I think you did pretty good with the foreshortening there! His left eye is a tiny bit bigger/too high up than the other eye, but that's just nitpicking. I really like his stocky build for some reason. Got my drivers installed and finally got to play with my tablet on photoshop with pressure sensitivity. They're just boring sketches but I'm pleased with the results: At the top is an original character from a story my friend and I tried writing. She's got all of that gear(she should have goggles on too, but I didn't feel like drawing them) on because she's from a future where people live underground because above-ground is a dangerous wasteland (dust storms, etc etc), but her job is to scavenge the ruins above ground for stuff to be used in the cities underground. (blah blah blah) The next two are two of my characters from the Perfect World MMO I play. I've got a backstory for them going in my head while I play. And then... Raiden is Raiden? I like drawing his hair. XD It's so pretty~
