I'd like to see a guy win by sacrificing everything he loves and cares for. Everything that was once good about him thrown away for the "greater good," leaving a husk of a person who is worse than the person he overthrew. Or maybe that's just me.

personally I'd prefer him winning with skill as opposed to friendship which somehow translated to altering the laws of causality

MegaMan:
What I mean is, well, look at all the crap that uses darkness as a plot device: - KH - Alone in the Dark - Persona 3, to an extent - everything in the past 5 years - half of everything else in the past 10 years I mean, we get it, people are afraid of the dark. It causes stubbed toes and tripping over cats and stuff. That shouldn't make it the Universal Generic Plot Device of Evil. Especially not in EVERYTHING ALL THE TIME.

I'll back Blue up on this one. Yes, the dark is scary, that's something that's been true of our senses since the species has been alive. But please, don't make instantaneous references to light and dark just because good and evil are involved. They have to actually mean something.
Like, okay, Star Wars Jedi. Totally fine. They're called the Dark Side and the Light Side for a reason; having Yoda fight Palpatine and call it the battle of the light versus the shadow (Thank you Matthew Stover!) is awesome. But just cause a story is about people whom are evil and good don't make the comparison. Sometimes fights between people are just fights between people. EDIT: Also, unrelated, but what Hawk said.

as much as I dislike the second Yugioh series, I will give them some credit for using Light to represent the villians. Which actually makes alot of sense since throughout the story the hero's have used the powers of darkness

WOOT! Dr. Horrible is in the house!
In that vein, does it bother anyone else when females (Penny, for example) are portrayed as intelligent and motivated EXCEPT when it comes to guys (Captain Hammer, corporate tool)? |

it would, if I didn't know so many real life examples
