This is very cool. I'll need to think a bit before I post, though.

In my thinking, I came up with a question/issue. Are these copies just like us, or just like us but evil, or are they our total opposites? 'Cause some of us are already kinda evil, some of us aren't, and every way has it's complications.

Edit: Are we allowed to control the enemy ourselves? or are you going to be playing shadow-copies of our characters?

I'd like to play this out in the form of a giant fuggin' post for once, but I'd need both of them.

Basically a twisted you. They're not necessarily evil, but that's a moot point, seeing their overriding ambition is to kill you and take your place. The exact form this takes is your own discretion though.

Fun Fact: Her craziness is a little understated in that post, as I was running out of time.

Also, I might have one or two of the fights thrown through a shadow void, so please say if you'd prefer not to have yours interrupted like that.

A little explanation about my 'hey I'm back now read this and go WTF' post.

Remember that other soul that got created inside MT, the one I decided was named 'Scarlet Sword'? I'm imagining that, when MT's shadow got sucked away, Scarlet's soul got pulled with it. The shadow is her body now, but its will is stronger than hers, so it's the one in control. Since Scarlet has all of MT's memories and experience, the shadow is using that against him, making it more or less his doppelganger.

I suppose that, for MT to win, one of two things would have to happen - either Scarlet somehow becomes the dominant will and takes control of the shadow, or MT defeats it. In the latter event, Scarlet would share the same fate as the shadow, whatever that may be.

If any of this is too much, let me know.

I believe, MT, that in the spirit of Shadow Magic i.e. "It does what I say it does, you can't tell me it doesn't 'cuz it's dark and unique like my soul," you can pretty much go nuts with what exactly these guys are and where they came from, other folks' explanations be damned.

And I was expecting Hawk to fight a big, burly, warrior dude, not another KFC bucket on-the-wing. Oh well.

Well, it was just more interesting this way. Perhaps I'll have him shapeshift mid-way through, although if he did that he'll probably be too powerful for Hawk to actually kill in his current form.

Or maybe I could just go and give Real-Hawk his human form back in this fight and then they can both do the shapeshift thing, for added epicness.
