Ugainius looked around "Okay looks like most of them are here, remeber back off until the others start to weaken." He looked down on to his sword "Slightly Better Sword, don't fail me now."

(Damn I hate how fast these threads move. Guess I can't help it when there are so many participating.)

Black kept an eye on his sly teacher, Nikose. After receiving a rather generous gift from Nenyel and Nikose it would be a waste not to try it out. He let the jade pendant dangle around his neck, keeping ready to transform it when he needed to. "Today's your big debut Latis, in front of a crowd I mean. Not like I haven't called upon you before. But I may not need to use you for a while, I'm getting use to hand to hand combat."

Black gave a firm shout to Nikose who wasn't too far away. "They say if you play with fire you'll get burned. I guess that doesn't apply to me anymore does it?" He stretched his arms and legs, knowing today he was probably going to be using them to dodge and parry more then attack.

Nikose, without a smile, reached up, and tugged on the hat, watching as it didn't budge. "Hm. It seems your ego has given you a bloated head. Until you can accept that the people present are at least your equals, it's not coming off, unless we cut it off."

He turned to Black. "Remember today- Today is the day that Lapis and Nenyel fight side by side again. You ready for it?" Nikose called, his hand resting on Nenyel's hilt.

Melfice sighed.
"Bah, such foul treachery. However, I admire it's effectiveness. Well played, Nikose. Don't expect me to go easy on you though."

Melfice turned around, hitting Nikose right in the ass with the scabbard of his blade. "Sorry there, my good man... no hard feelings, right?" He smiled.

"Always. Remember who I was taught by." What was more true was the fact he was ready to take blow after blow while shaking it off. After all, the training had literally hardened him. Even Black was amazed how household chores paid off.

"Hey Nikose, how bout a little game before the match?" Black held out his right palm. A fireball no bigger then a baseball appeared above his hand. "You up for a game of catch?" He grinned, tossing it up and catching it a few times.

Nikose let out a little laugh. "We'll see how everything goes during the match, Melfice. Stay by us- This way we don't get surprised with gunspray or other crude weaponry. With Fenris nearby, he'll stop blanket fire. That's why I'm standing close to him."

He turned his head to Black. "Better not, we might get in trouble. Still, better keep Latis at the ready- she'll prove more valuable than you know."

"Hmm... maybe not such a bad idea, I agree. However, what of the 'no team deathmatch'-rule?" Melfice asked.

"Still, I shall hang around, if only because I want to be the one who kicks your behind for putting this hat on me." Melfice stopped walking, and looked at the item that had been granted to him.

A ring of purification...? To make naive rubes out of nitwits? Sounds like it would do Nikose some good, although he looks rather intense right now.
Still, if it actually stuns the victim's mind, like it says it does... it would have some uses.

"Oh, we're not a team, Melfice. However, stragety wise, Standing near the person who can stop ranged attacks would be clever." Nikose shrugged lightly, and sparked a bit. "Personally, I'm waiting for someone someone else to make the first attack for now."

"Naturally. However, has the tournament even begun yet? As of yet, I see a disturbing lack of violence," Melfice said, but quickly added: "Against each other that is."

Melfice shrugged and hung around Nikose and Black.

"So when does this thing start?" Ugainius asked nobody in particular. He'd also have to talk to that Newb guy when this was all over. After all there was benefits to exploit.
