Eh, auxiliary and emergency power are still mostly online, and you're only on Deck 3 so it's not so bad. If you were one floor down, then yeah, life would suck for you right now.

Nuh-uh!! Life would be -awesome- cause a sexay Bajjie would be rescuing you.

Also, doors would be automatically in whatever position they were in when all power went down. Like elevator doors. Generally if on aux power the ship will try and seal all doors in case of intruders to hinder their progression. Same situation during boarding alerts. The affected decks will lock down all doors and, if the ship has them, engage forcefields to try and limit/slow down the invading troops.

Ah, well that's good to know. Still, I decided it would be easier to just have the Captain reroute power so that the doors worked. Next big project is getting enough power to fully run the turbolifts. We've got a lot to do in a short amount of time, and we can all be taking forever crawling around in Jefferies tubes.

Also, Ugainius, please take some time to check the spelling, grammar, and coding in your posts at least shortly after posting. That last one was awfully hard to read. Not to mention that, at some point, you're going to have to do something other than stomp around and yell at people, because I'm totally able to make it so you get eaten by a Gorn.

We could always have Ugainius' and EA's characters fight each other to the death. That would be entertaining.

I don't know how many posts of [insert name] climbing Jefferies tubes or traveling through the ship, so I was thinking that maybe the next post would just have us all at the meeting room. Unless, of course, someone really had great plans for a "climbing the Jefferies tubes" post. If you do, go right ahead.

That would be a completely fair fight, and nothing at all like a Vulcan using a neck-pinch on an infant. I indorse this idea, but my character cannot, for philosophical reasons, participate in such a fight. He follows Open Palm, whilst I follow Closed Fist.

I.. er... don't really know how to roleplay a Star Trek character, I guess. Can't really think of something to allow for character growth for the young cadet

Just let it flow naturally. Right now you're hauling an injured crewman to sickbay, where there's all sorts of crisis going on with the 46 other wounded crewmen being treated by the rather ornery Dr. Graanar.

How would an inexperienced kid at his first year in the academy react to something like that?

Character growth? Since when do Star Trek characters need character growth? I mean, look at, uh...all of them except the Voyager crew and certain members of DS9, Worf, Picard, Q (pre-Voyager), Troy, Kirk, etc., etc. I mean, the only character with real growth pre-DS9 was Data, and that was because that was his entire concept. I mean, all of the interplay between the characters was not for character growth, but rather grew out of their 2 dimensional set standard. I suppose they attempted character growth with Wesley Crusher, but that ended with something the writers pulled out of their asses to get rid of the character.
