How many people move appliances around while they're on? Lamps, maybe, depending on how far you're going. TVs? I mean, I've never, ever had this problem before.

No I do just to be safe, but I only have to slide the system a little bit to the side so I can get my hand to the back, and sometimes it seems simple enough that I shouldn't have to turn on the system again.
EDIT: But regardless, just saying that I can see why some people don't want to bother turning the system off if they only have to slightly shift around the system. Last edited by Red Fighter 1073; 11-30-2008 at 07:07 PM. |

just be glad this isn't the age of wired controllers. I cant tell you how many times a console nearly went flying because someone tripped on a cord

Anyway, I've gotten used to the NXE now, it's not as bad as I first saw it to be. I see reasoning on why they took out the blade system and it makes sense, so I'm cool with that, though I still see the Avatars as a money making scheme by Microsoft. And menus are still slow! Rar!

I liked that cord feature.
Microsoft was smart about that when they designed their Xbox controller cords. Regardless of anything else, that was a good decision and feature.
I did get to witness in college a few PS2s get pulled off shelves and things due to inattentive folks tripping on cords or pulling too much. Conversely, all I ever witnessed with Xbox cords in similar situations was the cord disconnecting. I love how the avatars (and Miis) allow you to use height changes and thin/fat changes and yet no one ever seems to move from the default. Especially my fat friends. This is made funnier to me, since they are particularly picky about people making their Miis look as much like the actual person as possible.

I have my own hypocritical moments, of course.
That's what I'm saying! It's supposed to be whatever you want, right? I mean, if folks don't want fat avatars or whatever, cool, great. Just don't go demanding people make theirs look a certain way if you're going to ignore your own rules about it.
