You know, I'm all for the metric system, I don't mind it, I use it a lot myself, but for some reason, I just can't accept Celsius as a proper measurement. Sure, it has logic on it's side, but it's units are too large and I just hate it.

Anyway, it's still relatively cool here, I think today it made it to the mid 80's and that's still bearable.

I'm the first person to say that logic is overrated, but in stuff like physics and mathematics, logic is pretty much there to keep scientist sane (and to make them do wrong conclusions some times).

Anyway, it's raining down here in Finland. And I was walking there. I'm not sure if it wet, as my jacket is only wet from the front side, but the backside is mostly moisty.
The only logical conclusion there would be that I should have walked longer, but well, I have already said nasty thing about logic, so ha ha you logic, aren't you sad now..

Welp, let's switch gears back to the actual topic, shall we?

One of my favorite ways to 'beat the heat' is thjrough nice tall glasses of ice cold peppermint tea. It's really refreshing and cooling, plus has the added benefit of having no caffeine (and thus lacks diuretic properties). That, and just keeping the air moving is typically enough for me.

Staying hydrated is important. I live in Wisconsin, but my dad lives in the Phoenix valley in Arizona. Oddly, neither of these ever bothered me much, despite the fact I almost never leave the house in shorts and usually dress in a white tee with a shirt open over it (which actually gives the best of both worlds in terms of air cooling and protection from the beating rays of the sun).

However, in St. Louis, whenever it was hot, it was humid. I am not a person to sweat. I had to do a scavenger hunt there, at NIGHT, no less, and was so thoroughly drenched that I had to hang my clothes to dry on a towel rack. The summers there are positively miserable, to the point of people dying. Needless to say, I learned the value of hydration, and any time I went outside, it was with a bottle of Gatorade.


Past that, wear loose clothing and layers. Light colors help. It also helps if you have wind in the area. For staying inside, open the windows when it's cool and close them when it gets hot. If you have a basement, you can go down there. Park your car in the shade if at all possible.

I'm a stick of a man, so warm weather is nothing for me.

The same can't be said for the router my parents use. It's up in the attic which is basically the same as leaving it outside in the shade, and if we don't put an ice pack on it it refuses to hand out IP addresses.
