Droids can't be Captains because of the whole Obedience Chip thing.
EDIT: Also, it's bad to have a Captain that can be hacked. Or replaced with an identical copy. Or killed by a magnet. Last edited by Dauntasa; 12-31-2009 at 10:00 PM. |

Not bad.

Actually, Dauntasa wouldn't be a bad captain. Maybe some changes to skills so he can be more conversational, but his list looks like he could get out of some tight spots. He is also the oldest so far.
In the Star Wars realm, independent droids tend to get executed. Last edited by CABAL49; 12-31-2009 at 09:54 PM. |

Except that you're totally dependent on someone else having Craft Robotics to heal you.

In the same way fleshy humans are totally dependant on not suffering critical internal organ damage.

The character I am currently working on has a half decent conversation skill, and is pretty well balanced, maybe I can be captain. Although he would be the kind of captain who goes to the front lines, as he has some combat skills to.
Alternatively, a GM NPC could be captain. Last edited by Bard The 5th LW; 12-31-2009 at 10:10 PM. |

His personality would conflict with a leadership role anyways. Edit: I don't quite understand what the RES score is that it asks for in EVA. Last edited by Bard The 5th LW; 12-31-2009 at 10:19 PM. |

The hard part is that the game is too early to have anyone who is well developed enough to be a captain, unless you want someone you is a social and intellectual god, but crap in combat. Like the very opposite of my character, someone with 5 Cha and Int, 4 Willpower and VIT or Strength and 1 of Strength and reflex or something.
Ideal situation might be to have a GM NPC who is captain but dies one or two missions in the story then have someone replace him from there once some chances for development had occurred. EDIT: Mind you, I would never follow Kirk as opposed to someone like Picard or even Ben or Janeway if we're talking Star Trek. I already asked that question early in the thread. It's a typo. Was supposed to be RFX. Last edited by Menarker; 12-31-2009 at 10:22 PM. |

I like the idea of a GM captain who bites it a little ways in. It lets Krylo set up the basic plot at the start, but then one of us can become Captain later on when we're a bit more developed.
