You're crazy in that you're insinuating that SAC is intelligent. SAC isn't intelligent. SAC uses big words and literary references that make it SEEM intelligent to the unobservant, but at the end of the day the case is solved via the same Deus Ex Machina as Law & Order, CSI, or whatever other criminal investigation show you want to use that has had fun made of it over ridiculous Deus Ex Machina and/or unrealistic detective abilities being used.

It also has cyborgs, though, and cyborgs are cool.

So, if anything, SAC is Law and Order for kids.

I thought Law and Order WAS for kids, well, kids and old people.
Edit:
and I object to the assumption that he could either right OR crazy.

Other than the cyborg limbs FMA and SAC are not very similar, what with one having magic and being a fantasy set in an alternate universe and SAC being science-fiction set in the future. Really, the similarities are not really there, though I suppose both pose the question of what defines a human, but for somewhat different reasons (Al would question his own humanity because he's a soul attached to armor, whereas the cyborgs of Ghost in the Shell are questioning it because their "soul" is computer data attached to a cyborg body).

My description of it was more "If Philip K. Dick wrote 24."

Learning this again for the second time in life saddens me.

Y'all feisty.

I would think there is more to intelligence than "how the case is solved," but I'm also totally the wrong person to be talking to about this.

I didn't just mean it was dumbed down exactly (although it doesn't even pretend to be complicated and things are much more spelled out); it's also more cartoony and lighthearted. And instead of sci-fi, it's fantasy. Or a more fantastical sort of sci-fi, at least.

Default I like SAC, but man they can talk too much.

It's not like it makes it less enjoyable.

Unless you were holding on to the idea that "blah blah blah let me talk for five hours" meant they were getting super deep and philosophical all the time, I guess.

You know, it seems like we have this assumption here like I'm somehow praising SAC or shit-talkin' FMA. I like FMA. GitS is kinda cool sometimes. I would definitely say I prefer FMA.

It's just an observation.
