Impact paused when he heard Pierce's suggestion, shook his head. "If they're setting up a second defensive position, I think it'd be somewhere along the hallway, maybe at the entrance to the vault. I doubt that it'd be set up in close proximity to the Gendom, since they'd want to minimize fighting in that area, 'lest their fragile egg get smashed. Hence my suggestion. Let's stay together, kill the Pulverot, then we charge the second position. All except for Isaac, Matt and Rio tie up their second line of defense, keep them busy, but Rio and our pokebrids charge through and break the Gendom. Then they hit our opponents from behind. That acceptable?"
He tried to position himself for an attack on the Pulverot.

"I don't think so." Pierce replied. "Rio said all they live for is battle, and they're certainly showing us that. And they're organized, which is what makes them really dangerous. They're newborns, and they already know how to combine into a Pulverot and how to do a Syncstrike. That means they're smart, and they know at least basic tactics. So thinking that they wouldn't do something as basic as protect the Gendom is stupid. And of course, they'll also be setting up in the hallway."

"If they get past the defense in the hallway, whoever does that will be screwing themselves over. They'll be trapped between the ones in the hallway and the ones in the vault. And the longer we stand here discussing this, the longer they have to get ready, and make it that much harder for us. I guess Ursurang just volunteered herself," He glared at Charlotte, "so just leave this Pulverot to her and me. Take Renny with you, and get in there."

Impact sighed, speaking quickly. The trainer was right, they were wasting time, but his plan would work, he was sure. "I doubt they've already finished reinforcing their second line of defence. Unless they have reserves that they're withholding, which I honestly doubt, they would've committed them by now, the Gendom isn't going to be well guarded, since they'll be committing any reinforcements to a defensive line that's well ahead of the Gendom. If some of us manage to break through the defensive line, they should be able to overwhelm any guards the Gendom may have and destroy it before it generates any more. And I really don't think we should leave anyone behind, we don't know if there's any other Narchams around, and we don't know how close to death that Pulverot is."

((Let's just assume they're speaking very quickly, and that all that's being said is being said in the space of a few seconds.))

Matthias decided to let them work through it. He wasn't going to charge down the stairs head first. There were others on the team far better suited to the front lines. He had already taken the front enough today to know it wasn't his day to be taking shots for others. Thus while they were yapping he started moving around the Pulverot. The team seemed to be under the assumption that some of them couldn't move around it and attack at the same time. Clearly they weren't used to dealing with pokemon who specialize in special attacks

Psybeam He held his hand out towards the Pulverot though no visible effect occurred as the psychic attack hurled at the revolting pokemon.

Mike had just been about to unleash his newly captured Heatran when he felt a splitting pain in his skull. It was so sudden and so severe that his legs nearly gave out from under him, and he dropped to his knees clutching his head in agony. He didn't even notice that his Dragonite was knocked out, and that his Charizard took a serious hit. His vision had become blurry, both from the pain and tears starting to well up in the corners of his eyes. Mike tried to focus, to fight through the pain, and a few deep breaths helped alleviate it enough for him to remember the meds he always carried with him.

With single-minded determination, paying no attention to the fight still going on around him, Mike opened up the pouch on his waist and dug his way through several snatchballs and his two remaining full restores. Finally his hand found the small pill bottle, which he pulled out, popped open, then dumped a few of the pills into his other hand. He managed to swallow two of them before the migraine redoubled its efforts, causing a new wave of pain to wash over him. Luckily the painkillers didn't take too long to kick in, but the initial effects were always pretty weak.

Mike reached up to his scouter, activated the team communicator, and said, "Sorry guys, forgot to take my meds and my damn chronic migraines kicked in. I'll be alright, just give me a few minutes to get back into fighting shape."

Mike switched off the communicator, then lied down on the pavement and closed his eyes. He fumbled for the right pokeball then raised it and said, "Charizard, return. Time for a little rest."

------

Mike picked himself up shortly after the fighting outside cleared up. He looked around and saw that everyone was inside the reception area. He also caught a brief glimpse of a flesh-colored pokemon through the building's windows, but there were too many people in the way. He was about to rush in to join the fight when he remembered that his pokemon were still in pretty rough shape. He tossed out Charizard, and activated the communicator again.

"Rachel, it's Mike. I'm gonna need a full revive, and two more full restores before I go in and help the others. Thanks."

Mike then turned to Charziard and administered a full restore. Once the flying red lizard was back in tip-top shape he returned the pokemon to it's pokeball just as Rachel showed up with his requested items.

"Thanks," he said as he put the two full restores in his pouch and applied the revive to Dragonite. "Any idea what's going on in there?"

Rachel gave him the quick rundown of what the others were facing, and Mike was off without another word as Rachel zipped back to rejoin the others as well.

Mike entered the building and let a pokeball fly without hesitation. He'd have time to marvel at the horrifying nature of these pokemon after they were destroyed.

"Go Dragonite! Hit Pulverot with a Dragon Pulse!"

As Dragonite started to charge the energy for her attack, Mike grabbed another snatchball from his pouch and tossed it at the Narcham. He didn't really expect to catch it, he was just hoping to stall it and maybe paralyze it to give his teammates the chance to kill it before it attacked again.

"Sorry I'm late guys. Won't happen again, I swear."

Astral Harmony will become famous soon enough. Eventually. Maybe.

Battle Synopsis: Victory! ...But don't celebrate yet. Behold the power of six Narchams, four Pulverots, a Omnisroth, and the Gendom. The Gendom is untouchable as long as the Omnisroth remains able to fight. You have the initiative. Make it count.

The final Narcham ate Impact's flurry of deadly strikes and fell dead. The Pulverot struggled against the combination of so many different attacks, but even it couldn't hold up against that kind of assault.

The group hurried down the hallway. "What else can we expect from these things?" Rayleen asked Rio.
"Ever seen a Omnisroth?"
"The hell is that?"
"Something we may have to take on if we want to crush the Gendom," was all Rio said as they rounded the corner.

The scene came to them in pieces as the music shifted into some kind of heavy metal song. The ripped apart body of Darcen and his six Pokémon. Crushed Pokéballs. Destroyed security turrets and cameras. The breathing, obese, uncontious body of the bank manager in a corner. And the largest formation of enemy Pokémon one could see. Six Narchams, four Pulverots, and a huge monstrosity that nearly took up all the space in the vault. It vaguely had the same body shape as the Narchams, with a large, flat face decorated with six slanted eyes. The majority of its body was thankfully hidden behind its large head and front legs...legs that, one would note, ended in claws as long as Rayleen was tall, and as wide as one of Impact's legs.

"Well, if we came expecting small miracles, at least the bank manager is alive," Dormond said. "Although I detect the pungent stench of urine."
"That oval thing on that pedistal in the vault in the Gendom," Rio pointed out.
"Forget the Gendom, is that the Omnisroth!?" Rachel gasped, so in awe of the monster's size that she stopped midway through healing the Pokémon, then quickly returned to her senses and her job.
"How many Narchams did it take to make that thing?" Dormond asked.
"Six Pulverots, so...ummm..." Rio paused, clearly stumped.
"Thirty Narchams," Rayleen confirmed.
"Hey, I knew that! I can do math, too!"
Rayleen didn't want to go there today. "Okay, this is it. We destroy them here. With the police force defeated outside and still no reinforcements responding to that call I made long ago, we're the only thing keeping these freaks from leaving. Step up the slaughter, everyone!"

But Rayleen wasn't done thinking. There were five Narchams and one Pulverot. Plus three replacements, that made a total of thirteen Narchams. She added in the two Narchams that Rio, Hector and Angelo dealt with. Fifteen, at least. Then they had this to deal with. Six Narchams made twenty-one. Four Pulverots raised that to fourty-one. Throw in the Omnisroth for a grand total of at least seventy-one Narchams. Just how long was the Gendom active? The Omnisroth was too massive for anyone to target the Gendom it was protecting. The big one would have to go down before one could do anything to the little one, just like in the Bioshock games.

"The Omnisroth isn't very accurate with any of its attacks," Rio explained through tightly controlled anger. "So when it strikes, pray to whichever god you pray to and you may just make it through each round no worse for the wear."
"You sound pissed," Rayleen observed.
"That thing took away my music, and nobody takes away Rio Ikage's music."

-----

New Pokémon!

- Omnisroth ~ The Siege Pokémon. The evolved form of Pulverot, created by fusing no less than six Pulverots together, and since each Pulverot is five Narchams fused together, that's thirty Narchams! Omnoroth is believed to be by those who know about them to be the pinnacle of Pokémon evolution. They can take and dish out incredible power like no other.
Strengths and Weaknesses: Same as all Ruin types.
Moves
Knuckle Sweep - Ruin type, physical damage. 160 power, 60 accuracy. Single target. A powerful backhand swipe with a massive claw. The ultimate bitchslap.
Beam Ball Cluster - Ruin type, special damage. 110 power, 50 accuracy. Four random targets. A fire-and-forget grouping of glowing energy spheres that arc up and smash down on the enemy.
Gargantuan Leap - Ruin type, physical damage. 140 power, never misses. All targets. This Pokémon somehow manages to get airborne and then crashes down with all the grace and power of a giant Pokémon. Given the current tight conditions, Gargantuan Leap cannot be performed by this Omnisroth.
Laser Show - Ruin type, special damage. 120 power, never misses. All targets. Syncstrike capable. Omnisroth gets the party started by blasting the area with big ass laser beams from its eyes. This is usually joined by Pulverot's Sweeping Ray and Narcham's Spiral Dive.
Ability: Filter

- Gendom ~ The Generator Pokémon. The mysterious process with which Gendom produces Narchams is nearly impossible to fathom and it is guessed that Gendom existed a far more advanced age. However, the process is highly effective, giving Gendom the ability to rapidly generate its own Pokémon as an additional means to defend itself.
Strengths / Weaknesses: Same as all Ruin types.
Moves
Piercing Ray - Ruin type, special damage. 50 power, never misses. Single target. The only means by which a Gendom can defend itself without generating Narchams.
Power Boost - All allied targets. Slightly increases physical attack of allied units.
Force Boost - All allied targets. Slightly increases special attack of allied units.
Strike Boost - All allied targets. Slightly increases critical hit chance of allied units.
Ability: Narcham Generator - deploys one Narcham Pokémon per round.

Impact swore again, loudly, as he realized what they were facing here. The six Narchams didn't seem too horrible, but one Pulverot had been bad enough, not to mention four of them. And that huge... thing... He almost shuddered. He had never seen a pokemon more worthy of death. He looked towards Pierce. "You know that strategy you mentioned earlier? The one that involved hitting our opponents with Status effects and debuffs?" He looked at the scene. "Yeah... I think it might be a good idea to implement that..." He weighed up their enemies, trying to select a tactic. "These things must have a syncstrike that's... lethal. Rocks fall, everybody dies. We really need to cut down on the attacking power that these things have. Let's do the following: Let's kill the Narchams first. They don't have as much HP as the bigger monsters, but they have pretty high damage-dealing potential. When we've taken them out, the amount of damage our foes can deal per turn should be reduced by half. Everyone with a dragon attack can kill one, I'm guessing. If there's anyone without dragon attacks, try to target the Pulverots with status effects. Paralyze them, Confuse them, put them to Sleep, anything to prevent them from initiating a Syncstrike." He turned to Matt, loath to have to show politeness to a half-breed, but there was no time. "Can you use toxic on the huge abomination, and then try to stop it from interfering too heavily? Maybe disable, maybe confuse it. It should be possible to take out the Narchams fairly easily, provided we don't have too much interference. And once the Narchams're dead the rest of us can focus on helping you kill the Omnisroth. The egg goes down next, then we finish off the Pulverots." He turned to the group. "I don't know if this will work, I've never fought these things before. But from what experience I've gained in the last few battles, I think it might. And I generally have a good instinct for these things."
It was amazing, what desparation could do to make you forget past wrongs and grovel at the feet of your foes..., part of him, the part that wasn't close to panic and nervous collapse, reasoned, but for once he didn't listen to the insidious voice. It was... right, uncomfortably right, but it was inefficient, it was a distraction and it'd get him killed. "Look... trust me, ok? I think that... just maybe... it'll work."
Unable to bear stalling, or looking them in the face as equals any longer (though he made sure not to let it show, they had to cooperate, had to listen to him, and for that they had to respect him), he let out a quick sigh, turned away, paused, then went at the nearest Narcham, blade swinging.

Renny gasped at the sight of the massive Omnisroth and the carnage that it and its ilk had wroth. He wracked his mind for a suitable idea, but he felt stumped.

Ok, think... 5 Pulverots and that big thing means that it can probably unleash multiple of those Syncstrikes at one time. Can't hope for any of my pokemon to hold onto such an onslaught. Status affliction is a good plan, but such huge numbers! Could we ever hit them all before they spam us? I have the feeling that specialized techniques may be required...

"Hold on one moment! I'm setting up my pokemon!"

Renny ran back some distance a bit, removing himself from combat, as he explained the situation over to his team-mates by his headset before they start objecting or thinking he chickened out.

"I got a pokemon that can use a technique that forcefully reduces an opponent's health to match the one that hit it. I'll weaken my pokemon in advance and come back to use it on that big thing. I imagine that Omnistroth has a massive stamina, so this would be devastating to it. I just need a tiny bit of time. Once I use it, we just need to hit it once or twice to finish it off."

Renny then summoned his Togekiss alongside his previously summoned Magnezone, and spoke to them with concern and desperation born out of neccessity.

"Listen. You know the Endeavor tactic that we worked on? Substitute to make a shield reducing your health while using Endeavor to really weaken a foe? We are going to be doing it. Magnezone, you need to use Flash Cannon, but try not to go overboard. Just a bit less than half if you can. Togekiss, I know this may hurt a bit, but the situation is overblown beyond anything I could have anticipated and I really need your help. I'm sorry."

"Togiiikisss" The Jubliee pokemon nudged itself against Renny supportably, reassuring his trainer as it braced itself.

"Magne...." Magnezone expressed in apologetic tone its attack as it tried to unleashed a pulled punch version of a beam. It impacted and Togekiss braced itself, while preparing to create a protective shield with a shape that much resembled itself.

--------------------------------------
Can I assume I'll be able to do this summon both pokemon thing due to being in a seperate location from the rest of the group?

Anyhow, Magnezone uses Flash Cannon on it with no intent to knock out. Preferably to hit Togekiss to around 30% hitpoint and no lower than 26%. STAB but no type advantage.

Togekiss uses Substitute after being hit so she has a shield erected and ready while also being around 5% hitpoints or so. Said shield will last until 25% of Togekiss's max hitpoints of damage is taken, with excessive damage from the breaking blow also being absorbed just before it disappears.

"Well, fuck me."

Pierce stood in awe for a moment, but quickly composed himself. When they entered the vault, they were greeted by the Gendom's private army it made for its protection, including an Omnisroth. If Pulverots were abominations, Omnisroth were what nightmares are made of. Pierce stared at Impact and resisted the urge to say "I told you so".

He returned Skarmory to her pokeball and took out another. "Starmie, Thunder Wave!" The star-shaped pokemon materialized and fired a weak jolt of electricity at one of the Pulverots. Unlike other electric attacks, Thunder Wave didn't overwhelm nerve centers to cause pain, it dulled them to cause paralysis to the target.

Charlotte let out a grunt of anger and exaspiration at the sight of the many foes. "When this ends, the scientist better pray that there is someone to hold me back from incinerating the corpses!"

"Buck you hold back and rest for a moment, once Spitz is finished, run straight back in with another Giga Impact." The Arcanine, understood, yet was a bit saddened at missing part of the battle. "Spitz, offer some support," she said, releasing the Mightyena to the fray. He was pretty disgusted at the sight of this room full of monstrosities, and the smell of urine. He inched back a couple of steps, as if to run, before meeting the end of Charlotte's boot. It wasn't that hard of a kick, but it was enough to give him the message that there was no running.

"Spitz, use a super fang on the big one," she commanded. After a light whimper, Spitz ran to the enemy reluctantly and launched forward, terrified as to what the monstrous Omnisroth would do to him once his attack was over. He wasn't sure what was worse, having his trainer's ire for just about ever, or being sent to the hospital/morgue by this thing.

((OOC: the attack super-fang has no number assigned to its damage. It will always take the enemy down to half of their HP, no matter what the factors are.))
