Believe in Nothing by All That Remains.

I find the style of vocals in Nevermore sound especially pretentious, so I'm not a big fan. The main difference here is the vocal style (in my opinion) so I like this version better.

That said, can't bash on Nevermore. Jeff Loomis is a beast.

Edit: Pomplamoose. That is all.

I found a book that said that fear was the most prominent of all emotions, or some such. Obviously the writer was a pussy.

Ging and Juice by The Gourds (not Phish)

And the best covers ever were done by The California Raisins.

Default It's the drumming really

You are pretty good guy if you sound better than Hendrix.

And being awesome when you play it live makes you better.

Taken By Trees - Sweet Child O' Mine (Guns N' Roses)
Cars - Fear Factory (Originally Gary Newman)

Only two I can think of right now. They're both pretty good.

I can''t currently find the acoustic version video (they originally did this cover and later made a "hard rock" version by plugging in) of Meatbee doing the Transformer's theme.

It's by no means the best version, and perhaps not even that special. However, the slower strums of the acoustic guitar and her delivery of the lyrics make for what I think is a unique and interesting cover. Your mileage may vary.

Do you mean this or this? Can't say I care for either of them, but as you said mileage varies. Personally, for TF covers, I'm sticking with the Black Lab cover, that I've already linked.

Oh, just remembered a good one...

Bohemian Rhapsody (Weird Al)

You should probably compare Stevie Ray Vaughan's rendition of Voodoo Chile next to Hendrix' original. (Note: SRV version is a live recording, while the Hendrix one is a studio recording)

I prefer Vaughan's, though obviously tastes differ.
Both awesome versions, of course!

(Check out Little Wing too! =D Very alike, but so different.)

Here's a few more:

All Along the Watchtower (Jimi Hendrix) - Point of fact, this is a cover of Bob Dylan's All Along the Watchtower.

Careless Whisper
(Seether)

Black Betty (Spiderbait)

Land of Confusion-Disturbed
I wouldn't say its better than Genesis as I tend to listen to the original more often but its a good cover nonetheless.

You Spin Me Round-Marilyn Manson
I'm not a big Manson fan but I love this cover.
