Not bad.

Who is going to invade the US for food and water? Canada? Mexico? Cause once we hit rock bottom, there is no way to transport any modern military across large bodies of water. I mean, thousands of civilizations have risen and fallen in the not-US parts of the map. Europeans have excess food, why not invade them? They have a lot of land high enough above sea level that they might make it, as long as the trans-atlantic beltline survives. Methinks you've played too much Fallout.

no I did not. Do you mean we have the largest navy out of every single country or we actually have more ships then all the other nations combined?

USA pretty much outspends on military every other country combined (This isn't completely accurate but certainly more is spent by USA than the next 15 countries combined on their military) there is a reason the rest of the world looks at america and is so perplexed by your budget priorities and culture it's like you guys are constantly gearing up to invade some where.
Edit: This also doesn't take into account discretionary spending which the senate gets to play around with, this only takes the 700 odd billion from the planned part of the budget, if you include senatorial spending the true figure rises to about 1 Trillion, which actually is more than 50% of the entire worlds military spending. A single year of that money being used say to break poverty for the poor in africa and the middle east would end world hunger and if spent in an intelligent way, probably for good.

Valid points, sif. But tellin senate and the other fatcats hemorrhaging money to stop hemorrhaging money and instead focus on smarter sustainable long-term spending and such practices is about as effective as trying to stop a hurricane by farting.
Besides them being completely out of touch with reality there's all the political playground bickering and so much infighting that i'm genuinely surprised when ANYTHING, even trivial things, gets accomplished sometimes.
