If you think this was done without regard for your feelings, you're wrong. We damn well knew we'd get backlash but we had to do it anyways because we've been through this before. If you want disrespect, just look at the posts in here insulting myself, brian, mashirosen directly. If you think I came off as condescending or arrogant, I'm sorry that you misread my statements. It was intended in a jesting manner, and frankly, if I did get condescending it was because I was baited and pushed and attacked from many sides.

Yeah, I took one for the team. But I'm human. How do you think I like being called some disrespectful sod? I could have truly been arrogant and said something to the likes of, we think you are all incapable completely of competent discussion, and in fact we're going to outlaw politics completely forever, without any chance of remittal, because we're just plain damn better than you.

I could have gone further. Did I? No. Am I sick of this? Yes.

Best part? If I close this thread some people will be up in arms about me censoring this too. What the hell ever.

Final point: the decision is made. You feel disrespected, I have apologised. I have explained myself. Still you attack me, still you make the same points over and over.

I'M SORRY.

Can we MOVE PAST it yet? Or do we have to recycle this god damn topic again and again and again until finally I break down, outlaw everything permanently, close and delete the discussion forum, and then get demonized for that too?

When do I get my own little bit of respect?

Hey guys. I would like to point out something. This is one of the best forums I've ever seen. We talk, we have fun, we have serious discussions...we have weird, silly ones too. And for the most part, everyone around here respects everyone else...and if someone isn't respectful, they are dealt with. Now, sometimes the mods may seem a little harsh, but in reality, they are trying to make it better for everyone. I enjoy being able to have intelligent coversations that aren't full of llolol omg roxor l33t lolololol!!!!!!!!!!!11111111111, excessive cursing, flaming etc. Sometimes, if a topic gets out of hand, or is too "flammable" I can see why it might need to be closed. But the point is, the mods are trying too keep this community a fun, enjoyable place to be. Sometimes, everyone has to give up a little bit of freedom or whatever, to make things better for everyone. So give them a break, they are trying hard to keep this forum as enjoyable as possible for everyone.

And now, since we all need a laugh, a little random fun:

I know I'm not one to talk, but...I think mainly the reason the political forum failed is because we're all pricks. No matter how composed or factually-backed we think we are, we're all just fools in the end.

Maybe if somehow discussions could always be done in PMs...You all know TREV. Him and I...we disagree on a lot of issues. But I don't hate him. We had a really nice PM conversation a while ago, and even though it didn't start out in the best way, I think it ended that way. I think we're only composed when talking one-on-one.

Yeah, I think I've been a dick in the past, but so's everyone. I know simply the thought of going to the discussion forum gave me grief but I still felt compelled to go there cos I'm a dumb fuck. Maybe this'll give us a chance to not be like rantforums. Let's introduce new topics for a while, then maybe when (or if) the political discussions ever come back, we'll be much better about it.

Eh...whatever. Here's hopin.

I hope Shiney and everyone else were not referring to me when they mentioned attacking her/other mods. I'm under the hope that most of these replies have not been aimed at me, but just in case anyone has missed it (which I must wonder), I'll say it once more:

I have apologized several times for any trouble I may have caused Shiney, Brian, and Mash (though I certainly didn't do anything half as hair-brained as Fifth's post).

I think Locke might have some points, but then again, I disagree completely on others.

Personally, I say everything that's worth having been said on this topic has already been said once too many times and this thread should be closed. Anyone who agrees, say so and maybe it'll give the mods a bit more confidence that they won't get bitched out (by anyone reasonable) for its closing.

Yeah Time to let go. In any case, if I'm not mistaken, this is not a complete ban on politics. There are a few topics still open to debate as long as it doesn't degenerate into a Bush v Kerry or overly partisan. Which makes the complaints even worse because your mad just because you can't lend support to a candidate an a webcomic based forum. Unless of course you missed the part were they told us what wasn't off limits, which explains how the abortion thread survived until post limit.
