Archmage levels, meaning Aeryn has Mastery of Shaping, as well as Mastery of Elements from a 2nd Archmage level. He can leave "holes" in the spell.

Before we get to that, Arha, we should consider whether or not the items are still functional. If so, for whom?

You know, that's exactly what I meant by how effective should the dispels have been. No one seemed to have said anything other than that the dispels had been fairly effective. Frustration... building...

There is the fact that if the disjuntion was ineffective, that would give Viska a very good reason for using the Chorzite dust. Seeing how it's Viska and Aeryn's items that were affected by the dispelling, how functional do you two think the items should be?

Fear not! Disjunction is a spell, generally agreed to be horribly overpowered, that works like an extremely power dispel magic that destroys any items and permanent magic effects that it successfully dispels. Fortunately, this is an RP so it isn't broken unless we choose to make it so. I don't know what chorzite is though, apparently it has antimagic properties though.

I do agree, less tehcnical stuff. This is meant to be more Final Fantays style than D&D style after all.

Mordenkainen's Disjunction is the 9th-level version of the normal Dispel Magic. It's just about the best Dispell-type spell possible without use of independently created Epic Spells.

Meh, too technical. It's stronger than Dispel Magic, but much harder to cast...in other words, higher level. It also has some different properties. Dispel Magic only affects items when specifically targeting them, for instance. It doesn't destroy magic items, merely supresses them for a while...with a very small chance of permanently disenchanting them. I'm also considering creating a unique spell to reverse this process...restoring all magical properties to an item.

I'm assuming the dispells were cast 1 on Viska, and 1 on Aeryn. In that case, all items would be functional, but most of our spell protections would be gone. Aeryn then cast a Mordenkainen's Disjunction, which does affect items when used to affect an area.

Chorzite dust is basically antimagic powder...I would reccomend, for the sake of fairness, that it be negated in an IC manner. Arha's suggestion of having Mercury flap his wings to blow the dust away from himself and Myrra sounds like a good idea. Meanwhile, Aeryn also used a Gust of Wind (huge understatement...this "gust" can knock down an ogre) to blow the dust away from himself and Viska.

Probably, this would cause the dust to blow off to the sides...leaving both groups magically potent.

The odds at this point are fairly even. Mercury/Myrra have all of their spell protections in place, and haven't been using up spells and energy dueling, while Viska/Aeryn have a bunch of mindless Dretches, and a selection of powerful magic items.

Well, I'm quitting this rp, I'm sorry. It's just that I've had a bad week, and when I try to do somethign that might not be considered godmodding, you do something that's just "fun".

I'm leaving and that's that. Sorry if it disrupts the rp anyfurther, but you guys can all burn under the nameless god's hell.

Rhiya, just tell us what the problem is, and I'll do my best to help. What do you want to see happen? I can't promise you everything, just that your input is valued. I understand that you're stressed out, I'm in pretty bad shape myself over everything going on in my life (both offline and online). You can't let that force you into abandoning things you have, or had, an interest in.

Just try, alright?
