Yeah, I've never understood why some people view Kefka's fashion sense as a detriment to the quality of his character design. Looking like an idiot at all times right up until he destroyed the world was what made him so awesome!

Stuff I noticed:
-Gabranth's alt costume is Basch. Confirmation that we might have different costumes acting as clone characters? (ie I expect Cloud to have a Zack costume.)

This is new and is worth a mention over at FF Wiki.

-Kefka has a weird poofy alt costume; it looks outrageously stupid.
-Terra has a new blue alt costume that I can't really identify.
-Tifa's ex mode gloves look really silly.
-Vaan can use a gun. His ex burst includes Pyroclasm, by the way... obvious but now confirmed.

Right now there's also a DLC menu on the website. All it has on it is the Lightning and Cloud unlockables from Parasite Eve and Birth By Sleep Final Mix (we knew about those), but maybe that means there'll be DLC this time around? Who knows.

This was already known. Terra's blue outfit is from one of Amano's billion drawings of her recently released in an art book. Kefka's outfit is the same. Tifa's gloves are, of course, the Premium Heart, which, yeah, looks pretty silly even in FF7. Vaan's EX Burst will work the same as Gabranth's and likewise use his FF12 Quickening abilities. Vaan is unique in that he has the ability to change weaponry on the fly to most of FF12's weapon types, and doing so unleashes a more powerful attack as a first hit. Doing HP attacks always resets him to barehanded, though, which doesn't possess that attribute.

Also, we're learning more about Laguna. Not only will he have his machine gun, but it's confirmed he'll also have a rocket launcher at his disposal and screens show him with a sniper rifle. He'll be able to shoot while moving with at least the machine gun, but past that, we don't know quite what his abilities are. His EX Burst is called Full Salvo unless it gets a retranslation.

Well, he's not actually a clown. In fact, he was freaking Prime Minister or the equivalent before he went all cuckoo. I think he just likes those clothes because he's crazy.

Clown is simpler and gets the point across faster and clearer, though.

Not really. If you remember correctly at the beginning of Final Fantasy XII King Raminas is "killed" by Basch who was, in fact Gabranth disguised as his brother to accuse Basch of high treason and successfully claim Dalmasca for the Empire.

When you play Laguna in FFVIII he mysteriously has access to all of your main party's GFs and magic and stuff. Whenever that happens he thinks that it's because of faeries but really it's becuase his adopted daughter is causing him to be possesed by his future son becuase thats the only way to fix the past whafuck-

Actually, Ellone eventually admits that was what she was trying to do, but she finally realized all it did was make them relive events as they had already happened and didn't change a damn thing. Basically, all she did was create a stable time loop.

Edit Edit: Interestingly, so did Ultimecia. All she wanted to do was prevent SeeD from coming and killing her, but her very actions to prevent that eventuality were what caused SeeD to be formed and come after her in the first place. It really is quite tragic once you finally understand what's going on. All she really wanted was to be left in peace and she couldn't even have that because of the eventuality of everything. She's not evil for evil's sake so much as incredibly bitter, hurt, and angry over her own fate, which is honestly pretty understandable.

I suppose that counts as a pseudo appearance in a way, but what I'm really getting at is that I don't think that's a reason for us to think that "Basch's appearance" is a reason for us to think Zack could be an alternate form of Cloud or Seifer of Squall.
