Any international folks here got room to host an American? I'll take the smallest room you have and I promise I'll be a great roommate.

Sorry. I'm afraid my Sofa was booked a few hours ago by a Californian.
... We're probably not that much of an upgrade at the moment anyway.

Gonna be a bumpy ride. We'll have to regroup and re-engage in 2018. Midterms are hostile to the party in power and the GOP has to actually govern now.

http://m.wikihow.com/Immigrate-to-Canada-from-USA Coming to Canada is hard but a lot easier than a Canadian going to the US. In a couple hours we should see early results from the overnight DOW and dollar drops. Economically speaking this is gonna suck for America. It will hurt Canada. And it will hit the U.K. As the biggest trade partners. I don't want to hear "look to the future for positivity" from straight white men right now. |

I am now looking for ways to rescue my girlfriend from the states, but due to my own financial situation, it is impossible right now. I need a miracle.

While it is unlikely, there is still the chance the Electoral college on November 29th says "fuckin nah".
I mean that's basically a false hope but the Brexit is looking to be halted because money issues, and the Trump has brought some dim economic pings to the DOW, at least. |

The rioting and outrage that would happen if the electoral college defied the American people would be incredibly divisive, moreso than Trump himself. That's getting into sparking a civil war territory.
I mean, Clinton won the popular vote, but she lost the EC. We'll simply have to live with 2 years of total GOP control, and do our best to protect the people who will be singled out and targeted for the crimes of being a minority or not straight.

Right now I am angry, hurt, sick and a whole slew of other emotions. I want to lash out and break things. I want to see Comney against a wall with a blindfold and cigarette facing a firing line. I want people to hurt.
I hate this feeling, I hate betraying my own self of being a person who espouses the virtues of hope and betterment towards your fellow person. I want to feel better, but I can't. |

Hopefully Obama can use the next couple of months to push through some last middle fingers like a Supreme Court Justice before he leaves office. I want to say I'm surprised that this could actually happen, but I'm not. We've been capable of this for a long time.
The next few years are going to be absolutely brutal. Look at BLM and what they've been dealing with and trying to address. Somehow that's going to actually get worse than it is already. Blood was already being spilled... Who knows what's even going to happen to Latinos at this point. We know that mass deportations are on the horizon but how exactly is that going to play out? I think we're going to start seeing stronger coalitions between Black and Latino groups as a measure of survival. LGBTQ movements are about to take a hard step back policy-wise. What protections the various sub groups have are generally flimsy and either rely on a circuit or two's worth of case law, one SCOTUS ruling, a handful of city/state laws in really progressive states, and, for trans people specifically, the ACA has been a huge boon for us to get the medical treatment that we need. This is all without taking into account that the hatred and fear of a frightening number of Americans has been legitimized. Police violence and destructive domestic policy aren't our only concerns here. We've always had a problem with minorities being beating, raped, and murdered by would-be vigilantes or, hell, even just people passing by. This is likely going to increase moving forward. Honestly, that last bit is what makes taking a proper stand so dangerous. You might be taken down by the state or some dipshit who thinks you're trying to take his country away from him.
