Highlights from my birthday yesterday:

1: Went to a German restaurant, met a couple acquaintances, drank great beer.
2: Cold Steel II was released; at least XSeed loves me.

3: Okay, this is the one I really want to rant about: A girl who was chatting with me for like, close to a week on OKCupid randomly blocked me after sending me another nice message that gave no indication of any reasoning why I'd be blocked. It's like she wrote me a completely normal correspondence responding to the questions I asked and asking new questions of her own, thought on it for a couple hours, and said "Fuck this guy." No explanation, not even a "Hey sorry but I [got a boyfriend] [decided you really aren't my type after all] [whatever.]" The most rational explanation I can even concoct for this strange misery is that she had some ironclad rule where she would date a 31 year old but not a 32 year old, my birthday rolled around, and suddenly I crossed the line for her. That's the most rational explanation available. Fucking bizarre.

Online dating is the bizarre world where nothing makes any sense whatsoever, and I'm really finding that I just don't have the mental fortitude for it, but when it's the only successful way someone with my personality type has to even meet women, I'm kind of straight up fucked.

All in all, the fact that this was actually one of my better birthday experiences really speaks to how lousy my birthdays usually are.
