but not something that should be done here. Still I do hate futility and realize that encapsulates the nature of any "discussion on the matter".

While I greatly enjoy discussing things with people I realize it will only generate greater hostility and I dont want that.

I shall endeavor to refrain from stating my opinion or sharing my understanding on this or any other matter in the hopes this "clears the air" with you and anyone else sharing your perspective.

If you or anyone else has something to say, make a thread in general forum or PM me, I think my IMs on here too, use that if you want. I dont want this thread derailed and I wont be checking it further anyways

I would not if this was the case, because I accepted the whole "buy new, get more stuff" to be a necessary evil when major game store chains make it their business to aggressively push the customer to buy games used.

(to the point of lying to the customer, a Gamestop employee claimed to me that they send money to the Dev if they sell a game used. Mmhmmm.)

You don't just discuss your opinions though. You have this amazing tendency not just to argue on the merits of your point of view, but to tell people they're wrong. On subjects and things they know more than you about. Even when you admit you know absolutely nothing about stuff relevant topic.

I guess that kinda makes sense... even though it turns the final, climactic battle into Sovereign and Saren collectively going WELL SHIT THAT PLAN WAS STUPID, LETS JUST KILL THE FUCKERS. Imagine the game from Saren's perspective, all the man-hours and resources used. The powerful allies lost... all for something he would have had no use for had he never started this plan to begin with.

Why did Saren kill Nihlus or whatever the SPECTRE's name was to begin with? Couldn't he have just sent Nihlus back to meet with Shepard while he continued along?

So nothing there about it being impossible. Also another thing; I always felt that the fact that Sovereign tried to use the stealthy route to get the Citadel relay open in the first place was because the Reapers weren't a 100% on their odds in a full scale war (even if they were, say 99,9% but let's say they're perfectionist and nothing if not patient). Now of course all of that goes out the window for me if all of the galactic civilizations couldn't detect the Reapers coming towards Earth before they actually get there.

From what I gather from the SPECTREs is that they have no internal chain of command, and answer only directly to the council. Saren might have told Nihlus to go back, but Nihlus had absolutely no obligation to do as told. We aren't really told about any of their personal history, but it might have even been they didn't really trust each other? I dunno.

Actually they were friends, and Saren mentored Nihlus prior to the latter becoming a SPECTRE.
