Some people haven't been to northern New York.

Dude, that's pretty much what it looks like everywhere where I live. We have some kickass scenery up here in upstate NY it just costs an arm and a leg to live here. Mostly due to the relatively high tax rate and stupidly high rents.

Are you kidding me? The Moriah area is dirt cheap. A girl I work with has a four bedroom house with a garage that she pays $500/mo for over there.

Whatever reality may actually entail, I figured the instinctive reaction when someone hears "New York" is "Trees?" or "Water without floating fish carcasses?"
I mean that's what I thought at first. Quote:

Edit: Oh and I hear tell in other parts of the country $300-400 will easily get you a 2-3 bedroom with utilities. Last edited by Sithdarth; 07-14-2008 at 11:06 AM. |

Now we're talkin'! This is closer to Ottawa's rates anyhow. It does depend heavily on the area/quality of the city though. Lowest I've EVER seen is about $500/month for a small one-bedroom apartment with utilities in a high-crime area and the building smells like old people and mouldy cheese. I'd rather pay a $100-150 premium myself to get moved to a building where they've heard of air fresheners and locks on doors.

This is why you don't give me markers and carte blanche to write on a wall:
Stand-Up does host concerts, and the bandmates of one of the Stand-Up guys love this quote. Last edited by Lady Cygnet; 07-17-2008 at 10:52 AM. |

This is what I've been doing during the summer when the forums are slow:
That is all time I could have been getting a haircut. And shaving! Well, Guitar Hero and creating movies with friends. And work. But those are boring pictures.
