I met up with my material supply contractor contact, there's a very good chance I can get my hands on some amazing material for this for 1/2 the cost - free depending on the material and how often it's shipped out, lots of different materials were brought up, but aluminized aramid seems to be the best option as I KNOW aramid doesn't even get singed from conducted heat and the treatment allows it to repel up to 3000 degrees (like a steel mill suit for furnace working), and since I would probably use a FPC treated military-grade cotton blanket for the cloak and set it on fire on top of me there would be no way for the heat to go through.

This is looking plausible... =]

Bad news... heh.
Since the weather has warmed up and dried out the swordchucks are now much much hotter... mind you I was using them when it was frosty out last, now it's T-shirt at night weather.

We are playing around with fuel combos trying to find the right mix to get the flame a little cooler until the new gloves arrive, I'm going to try out the welding glove option in the meantime and see if those are flexible enough.

We are having a shoot in the next 7 days, I'll post more pictures when I can =]

I keep having Vision's of Lev and his flaming Sword-Chuks fighting against the guy with the Atomic Robo costumes. I can't help.
