Time is something else.

It's a thread about bitching about video games.
Face it, it was inevitable.

I enjoyed Red Steel. It was ridiculous in many parts but if you overlook that I found it quite fun. Multiplayer is a blast too.
But in the name of the topic: Giving me swordfighting but not tracking the Wiimote to the motion bar, instead using deviations to determine your strokes. Ridiculous! This is like the simplest concept ever but no one has done it right yet. |

I'm to blame for both paradigm shifts.
For the most part, I'm proud of myself. |

Well, to switch gears, I hate "movies you play like a game." I can dig a few breathtaking movies, but I'd also like to take more than two steps before running into the next one.
Honestly though, it's a fine line. The Legend of Dragoon is often accused of this, and it falls into it, but most actual cutscenes are reserved for key plot events. There's a lot of dialogue, but gameplay is good enough that I can personally tolerate it. Now, if it were any other game, I probably wouldn't.

KOTOR's idea of combat has to be the worst idea ever created. It tries to mesh Turn Based and Real Time into one system but it just ends up being an awful combo where you press A once to engage the enemy and watch your character kill the enemy. That's it. It's so unbelievably boring.

To be fair the CC vs CT thing happens alot around here, and it was just dying out when someone asked why it came up.

Why do I get the feeling that you guys are really a mob, just waiting for someone to say something you do not agree with?

Games that tell us the transition from sequel to sequel (or series to series) in a cutscene or worse boring plain text dialog, instead of letting us actually play that really amazing final war to end all wars because the developers want to see how many sequels they can put between two events.
