We make good team!

My favorite part of today's comic is the 8-bit shadow Fighter casts on the door in the second frame.
And I, too, would like to see a transcript of the story in the background. Pretty please?

The original idea was to have the entire story in the comic, like a narrative with images to the sides. It really, really, really did not want to fit. Then my computer crashed and I lost the actual story (I curse my addiction to using notepad instead of Word). So, what you see there is just glimpses of the original story spaced out so that important phrases appeared outside the pictures, so if you needed help connecting the first few panels, you would see the words 'light', 'car', and 'arrival'.
The original went something like this: It was a dark and stormy night... Back in my office, hat soaking wet, I started to dry off while my mind pondered the events of the day. The only patron I had been able to get was a mysterious pirate by the name of Bikke. I was down on my luck when he appeared, quarter in hand. Quoth the pirate "Yar", nothing more - I was interupted by the sudden glare of lights that sent my shadow dancing on the far wall of my office. My hand instinctively gripped the swordchucks at my side. Looking out my window, my fears were quieted by a lone lady getting out of her car. I lit a cigar [note: had this in to work with the smoke in the 4th image] and got into my badass fighter pose. After what seemed like an eternity, my door creaked open to reveal a ravishing, red haired damsel. And this damsel seemed to be in no mood for games. Shucks. After a short introduction, she said she had something urgent to show me. A rendez-vouz was arranged at the port at 12 midnight. I would have to miss my favorite show. This doll was starting to get on my nerves. My hat was still wet as I put it on and headed out the door towards the port. The rain had let up, but the clouds that lingered in the dark sky covered the moon and only the faint light from the imposing cityscape accross the bay alerted me to the dame's presence. She told me she was going to show me the secret of the ghost galleon. But instead of heading for the docks, she led me towards the warehouses. That's all I got through writing, but the idea of the rest is that the WM woman is shot as she was about to show him something. Fighter notices the pirate Bikke in the darkness and goes after him, but he disappears. Then the last panel is him back in his office, like it's just another day's work for Encyclopedia Fighter. Then he figures out the case, a classic Scooby Doo style plot where the ghost pirates are an intricate elaborated hoax to scare away the locals to carry out some unrealistic smuggling operation. This particular execution was mostly due to space constraints, but turned out well I think.

The last panel I believe was when they were in a crate just before they first meet Sarda. And no double posting, but I really don't mind.

Oh my god! Dude, that is all 12 flavours of awesome, plus several secet herbs and spices of Rock! I especially love the tiny little white mage screaming "It's all my fault!"

Haha, that almost surpasses the hilarity of 8-bit itself! Very well done. Awesomness in animated form.

That was pretty sweet. Congrats Lollie, for getting your comic posted!

Okay seriously, the line "So how, in the nine hideously burning depths of hell" is a major fallacy. I mean if red mage said it, that'd be one thing, but black mage knows better. Only numbers 6-8 even have any sort of fire, and 9 could'nt possibly be further removed from it since it's a giant ice prison.

This has been my favorite guest comic, even better than "Requiem for a Black Mage".
"The Nine... Depths of Hell", is that a reference to the nine circles of Hell depicted in Dante's "Divine Comedy"?

Fighter's "rocking out" pose: Good.
Every part of the retelling of Black Belt's death (including Fighter's nunchuk pose): Double-plus-good.
