I believe LHN...he made an innocent mistake. He hasn't played as many games as the rest of us...I hope that this teaches him a lesson though. He's definatly not panicing so I'd say he's not Mafia

Or maybe he isn't that naive, and thinks this is a clever ruse. In any case, he's either a townie and stupid, or mafia. Considering the fact that he'd be dead weight as a townie, I think we should take the chance.

You better hope he's mafia, because if he ends up anything but mafia-aligned, you are receiving an official warning for that. You do not call somebody stupid so blatantly.

EDIT: Actually, y'know, you're getting a warn anyway, 'cause the mafiates are trying to look townie'd, so you're still basically bluntly calling Long-Haired stupid.

42PETUNIAS's posts seem incredibly scummy to me, at first he is just blindly hopping on bandwagons without giveing reasons and then later on he very aggresively uses arguments other people have already made about lynching LHN in addition suggesting that it dosen't matter if LHN is town and even if he turns up town he deserved it and the people voting him were doing whats best for the town. In my opinion he's trying to say people voting for LHN can't be considered scummy even if LHN turns up town the people voting him shouldn't be considered scummy if he's town. Hmm a lot's happened since last I was here. Damn you crazy timezones!
People have clarified that LHN is not as experienced as I originally thought. My vote stands however. This is because I have two options as I see it:
1) Vote for LHN based on what is potentially a sneaky tactic from him
2) Vote for someone else based on random factors.
Yes LHN may have made an honest mistake but he's the only one who seems to have given us any criteria to vote for him so far. I don't have any real reason to vote for anyone else.
ANd if people are scared of giving the last vote in a turn I'm perfectely happy to unvote and then vote again to condemn someone. Cause we have to end the turn somehow.

That sounds like poor planning on your part. Only after Major Blood gives out the information about people not receiving PMs do you decide to use that as a way to "prove" your alliance to the town? That comment is just as suspicious as someone roleclaiming as a townie. Both remarks in no way prove innocence and rely only on your word, which in a game of lies proves to know weigh much without facts to back it up.

The problem with the comment you made though is why would you feel the need to prove your innocence so early on in the game already? If you really were just a townie you've painted yourself as a huge target to the mafia and I believe that this thought should have occured to you before posting. On the other hand, if you were scum, you could very well be thinking that since you posted you are a townie that everyone else will call you stupid and whatnot while basically saying you'll die during the night for roleclaiming like that.

The mafia loves to kill off people who have night roles that oppose their cause (cult, vig, PO, etc...) and they also love to kill off confirmed townies. The ones with night roles is fairly obvious. The mafia will go after them to limit another faction's power and to better ensure a win for themselves. The mafia will also go after confirmed townies or other roles because the more people suspect others, the easier it is for them to blend into the background. For example, if there were three townies that for whatever reason were confirmed as such in the posts of the game the mafia likely go after them to limit the amount of "known allies" for their enemies, unless of course they use reverse psychology or something to trick the BG.

In any case I don't buy your excuse of wanting to prove your "townieness" so early on in the game like that when no vote had been made against you.

It's first day, and really, someone will die, and the only evidence we have is what people say that seems scummy. So, I really don't care if I seem random, LOJ. Voting for yourself is a part of the game that many people do on day 1.

With that said,

And If I have to pick anyone, I'll say, with some fairness, that I just dislike the way that 42 flamed. That's the only reason I'm voting for him. I don't like that kind of attitude in any game. Sure, people can get angry and act like idiots sometimes- I'm good proof. But that there was just flaming, as Fenris said. Nothing really provoked it, besides what is possibly a simple mistake.
