"That is just what I had in mind, actually!" the moogle grinned, a mischievous spark twinkling in his eye, "And there's a good chance that you three can rake in far, far more than chump change you were going to get for this job."
Hopping down from the bed, Prasad paced in front of the trio, like a general addressing his troops, "I'm assuming you met Mondiale, right? Well, his boss is looking to move up in the world, and Mondiale's boss' boss--a man known as Wash--has a whopping two hundred thousand gil reward out on him from the Rios authorities. So that's where we come in." He stopped, crossing his arms and looking up at them, confidence simply radiating from his fur. "Mondiale's boss has arranged to give us Wash's location and a window of opportunity to go in and apprehend him. We fail, we die. But if we succeed, you three walk away fifty thousand gil richer, I kupo off my debt, and we even get to bring arguably the most powerful crime lord in the world to justice! "So, whattaya guys say?"

Ark payed attention gravely as Jugan's head tilted back and forth to follow the pacing of this particular moogle.
"So, whattaya guys say?" Ark's chimed in with a solid tone that while stable and without much excitement or emphasis lacked the overall cold neutrality. "Clarification requested: Mondiale, our client prior to this proposal has a boss." "Said boss requests that we turn in his current superior with career advancement being his goal." "We remove one of the most powerful crime lord in exchange for setting up a new current boss who may or may not be worse than the current." "Possible complication detected: An assault on one of their leaders may demand that Mondiale and other members of the organization void the relationship as clients and mark us as targets permanently if we are detected." He then turned facing the one who held them under city custody. "Adaron, your perspective on Wash please." |

"Adaron, your perspective on Wash please."
"Adaron's perspective is that he probably hasn't heard of the man," Prasad interrupted, rolling his eyes, "And the clarification you need is that the man who hired you intended for this to be your real mission, and not completing it will definitely result in the relationship with you as clients being voided, which I suppose you can think about when you go back to jail for terrorism charges or whatever silly bit of trouble you got yourselves into on the way in here."

Adaron decided to give his perspective anyway. Needless to say, he delivered it with a scowl. "I don't like the idea of you going around and doing this guy Mondiale's boss' bidding, but if you capture this man Wash we might at least find out more about this organization.
"Even if that man Wash gets replaced, as of this moment we know nothing about his group at all." |

"Even if that man Wash gets replaced, as of this moment we know nothing about his group at all."
"And," Keith added smoothly, leaning against this cell of a room's wall, "we really don't have any other way to make the 50,000 gil." He glanced from Ark to Ziegmund, then finally to Prasad and shrugged. "I'm not going to object to the mission, but, are you sure a group of green adventurers can handle the most powerful crime lord in the world?" "But then," He breathed a laugh, "you probably aren't the best person to ask about being sure about a bet." Keith shrugged again, before glancing at Adaron, "Will we be allowed to leave the city to pursue Wash? Or," he smiled ironically, "are we too much of a threat to be allowed that freedom?"

Ziegmund frowned at the thought of this idea. Granted this was a good thing to do, but these kind of organizations our like hydra's, you cut off one head and 2 more grow in its place.
He shrugged as he knew it truly was the best idea to go on. And Adaron is right, it will get them more information on this organization and what they are trying to achieve. "Will we be allowed to leave the city to pursue Wash? Or," Keith smiled ironically, "are we too much of a threat to be allowed that freedom?" Ziegmund laughed as he heard that. "You think we actually pose a threat to the City of Dreams friend?" He asked with a chuckle, "We of limited abilities currently? The only thing we had that was any threat was the accursed staff we were handed. As for the mission it seems like a decent shot at both dealing a slight blow to this organization. Even if it's planned, power gains never move smoothly and it will disrupt their operations for a few days and it does allow us to learn more about them. Hopefully the boss isn't as skilled as Mondiale is though."

Ark listened to what was being said, but he had heard more than enough.
"Clarification confirmed." "Amendment to client's quest approved." "Retrieval of equipment and city pardon required in order to proceed." Last edited by Menarker; 01-28-2010 at 12:37 AM. |

"...mh..."
It was clear on the look of Adaron's face that he did consider your group a threat. Regardless of whether or not you were strong, it didn't mean that you were helpless. After some thought, however, he had decided that he had more to gain from accepting your aid. "Very well," Adaron said. "But you guys will not be acting alone. We'll send you ahead into the facility, but we'll be standing by in case anything goes wrong." Clearly, he believed that something would go wrong. Exactly who 'we' would be he didn't specify, though Cornelia was not a city with a large military. There could only be so many people they could send. Once again, he motioned for you to follow him. "I'll return your weapons to you," he said, as he turned to leave the door. "I'm not cruel enough to send you into a lion's den with your bare hands. I'll personally accompany you as well, but I'll be monitoring your progress rather than actively aiding you." Last edited by Truce; 02-07-2010 at 07:21 PM. |

Ark followed Adaron to retrieve his equipment, Jugan scampering alongside after a hasty look toward the moogle and to Keith and Ziegmund.
"Are there any supply depots or basic equipment available to prepare?" "Rawrl Rawlr!" The dragon headbutted the android's ankle's and opened his maw wide open as the dragoon looked down wondering about his antics. Ark interjected again. "Food supplies in addition, if possible." |

"Mh...of all the people who had to ask about food, it had to be you," Adaron said, musing to himself. Then, he turned to Ark, eyeing his dragon, and nodded after a moment of thought.
After all, even paladins shared a bond with crystal dragons - though not to the degree of a dragoon. Perhaps they saw the dragons as kindred spirits - but certainly, in Cornelia, they are thought of in high regard. "Very well, if you need of any food supplies for your dragon, feel free to request some before we leave the city. Oh, and I suppose the rest of you can eat as well, if you really need to." It seemed, however, he didn't enjoy showing the same treatment to the rest of the members of your party. After your party had gathered their weapons back, and filled their stomachs if they so wished, they started to trek in the direction that Prasad had told them of. Though only Adaron walked alongside your group, once again dressed in his armor and blade, an occasional glance overhead would spot a crystal dragon - larger and older than Ark's own - following them. Presumably, this was how he intended to keep an eye on them, though you can't recall seeing any before you had left the city. Eventually, however, night falls before you reach the facility. Adaron motions you to stop, for travel is dangerous in the wastes; moving in the darkness would undoubtedly invite trouble. The next morning, you set forth once more - finally arriving at your destination around noontime. The facility itself is mostly underground - only a single story building serves as its entrance, about the size of an airship hangar. It was guarded by some sentries - and though you could certainly attempt to take them out, it would no doubt alert the people here of your presence. However, as promised, there's an entrance close by. At first glance, it looks like an ordinary cave - but that was because it was. Supposedly, further in there was an opening that they could take advantage of to sneak in. [Geomancy Notes: Town, Underground] |
