Witnessing two Pokémon being pushed away, Rakald changed his mind on charging in with just a layer of Protect to defend him, and instead opted to follow the example of the team leader. Similarly to Rayleen, he decided to use Ice as a mean of weakening the opponents. He lifted his left hand to his forehead, and after a short while of focusing, he reached his arm towards Salamence.
"Ice Beam!" Rakald shouted as a cyan bolt of cold struck the huge lizard, hopefullt lowering the temperature a bit as well. |

Impact grinned. Ice wasn't the most versatile of elements, but if you were going to face a powerfull dragon, it was your number one choice. The Garchomp was struggling, but he had weakened it and knew its body temparature would drop further from the ice that covered it and the hail that was now falling. He would have preferred to finish it off while it was immobilized, but he turned away from it, hoping that the hail would do the job for him and he wouldn't regret this. Besides, there were plenty of other targets to choose from. One mercenary was hopefully down already, but the Rampardos seemed to be preparing to attack. Charlotte looked like she was handling the Crawdaunt fairly well, but if he attacked the Rampardos, he'd be exposed to the abomasnow, and he didn't have any anti-ice armor on. At least the weather cloak protected him from the hail, but that wouldn't do him any good if he got hit by sheer cold. He turned to Matthew. "Matt! I can take the Rampardos, if you cover me! Can you buy me two minutes against the Abomasnow?" Without waiting for a response he slung the LH launcher over his shoulder and unslung the high-velocity rifle, chambering a round with a quick and practised motion. It was a chemically-powered weapon, (that is to say, it used explosives), but the bullet was far smaller and longer than normal, more like a needle than a chunk of metal, and it had focussing mechanisms that allowed the projectile to reach huge speeds. This in turn made it very good at piercing through anything it was fired at. It its target was especially hard and brittle (like rock or ice) the force of the projectile passing through would shatter them from the inside out, if they were especially vulnerable (like normal or dark), the force of the projectile would rip and tear tissue very easily. He'd use it over the revolver any day. He lifted the stock to his sholder and looked through the sights at the Rampardos. He heard the voice of his instructor in his ear. "Rampardos! Another big, walking rock! Now, a lot of you would have played fun litte games, where you had to shoot your opponents in the head, am I right? Well, tell me, what is the number one thing to remember about games? Anyone know? No? Well, I'll tell you: THEY AREN'T REALITY! THEY'RE STUPID! Shoot a Rampardos in the head and it'll just shake it off! They butt heads when they fight, it's the best-armored part of their body! No, what you do is aim for the joints. Elbows. Neck, if you can. But the knees are best. Joints have to be flexible, they're not armored as well. And if you're a rock with legs and somebody eliminates your legs, then you're just a rock! Smash their kneecaps, then shoot them while they're struggling on the ground, trying to get up."
Impact silently thanked the sergant that had screamed in his ear for 6 months, and aimed at the monster's knees. Of course, what the Segant hadn't mentioned was how hard it was to actually hit its knees at a distance, or when it was running at you, but he had 29 chances to miss, if he just hit once. He took aim and fired, 4 consecutive 3-shot bursts, two at each knee. The rifle recoiled against his shoulder, but there were springs and dampers in the stock, and he could hold it on target. He'd hate to be on the other end of the barrel. |

Blaziken and Tyranitar were getting closer to the roof, when Pierce whispered to them "Blaziken, you hang back a bit. I want Tyranitar to take out that Yanmega first. Once that's done, you come up and we can take the ice trainer."
As asked, Blaziken hung back and let Tyranitar reach the top first. Pierce immediately spotted the Yanmega and pointed at it. "Tyranitar, use Stone Edge." He whispered. Tyranitar was surrounded by a blue aura, and sharp stones materialized out of thin air around him. The stones then launched themselves at the Yanmega. Not particularly caring about whether or not Yanmega was out, he jumped off of Tyranitar's back and called "Garus!" getting both his and Evangeleen's attention. "I'll take you on!"

Matthias nodded, moving forward towards the Abomasnow, quickly considering his options and what would be the best tactic.
Under normal circumstances he'd prefer to stun, poison or confuse it and then wear it down with Double Team or a weaker attack. However he didn't have that luxury in this fight given that he had allies who could quite easily be targets. He'd have to fight with a more typical strategy. Luckily he could do that too. A low buzzing noise started emitting from his mouth rapidly gaining in volume and directed at the Abomasnow. He spoke two words quietly as he unleashed the sonic wave. Bug Buzz. |

Swampert clenched the wall powerfully in its massive paws, and hurled itself over the wall, a watery spray emerging from its maw and emitted a beam of ice toward the Gliscor as Renny jumped off and Magnezone hovered along the wall and above it.
"Hey lady! We're shutting down your operation! It's over for all of you!" Swampert glared menacingly as Renny looked at the electric trainer with a confident air, although he had no chance of looking as intimidating or powerful as his own pokemons or Pierce's. For that matter, looking like a Shotaro boy was never intimidating... -------------- Ice Beam toward Gliscor for quad damage if it hits (flying and ground type both weak against ice.) Magnezone already under influence of Magnet Rise and thus ground immunity. Shotaro boy example for those not familiar with concept: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.ph...CuteShotaroBoy Last edited by Menarker; 02-18-2010 at 12:56 AM. |

Synopsis of Part 1 (Rooftop Battle): Yanmega and Gliscor have both taken serious damage, but are hanging in. Evangaleen's Electivire and Garus's Mamoswine have been deployed. Magnezone ate Mamoswine's Hyper Beam and is about to take Gliscor's Night Slash as well. Tyranitar managed to tank severe damage from Yanmega's Bug Buzz and Electivire's Focus Blast. Tyranitar's Sand Stream Ability has activated on the roof., stirring up a vicious sandstorm.
Yanmega was the first to see Renny, Pierce, and four powerful Pokémon climb over the top, and screeched out a warning. Evangaleen, Garus, and the Gliscor turned around just to see Yanmega eat Tyranitar's Stone Edge, then saw the enemy. "Awesome!" Evangaleen cried with happiness. "I thought Shannon and Moon were going to hog all the fun." "No fun if we lose," Garus said. "Out with the mons, already." The bizarre couple of a battle-crazy woman with wild white hair and the apathetic guy with glasses and an almost-encapsulating dark green weather coat reached for their Pokéballs and launched one each. "Electrivire! You'd better not lose to these scrubs!" "Mamoswine, take point." Two bigass Pokémon, the Mamoswine being huge enough to make the roof shudder as it emerged from its Pokéball, were represented alongside the Yanmega and Gliscor on Renny and Pierce's scouters. Yanmega (Bug/Flying Type) [Male] Moves: Bug Buzz / Air Slash / Detect / Supersonic HM Moves: Defog Ability: Tinted Lens Gliscor (Ground/Flying Type) [Male] Moves: X-Scissor / Night Slash / Poison Jab / Swords Dance HM Moves: Cut / Strength / Defog / Rock Smash Ability: Hyper Cutter Electivire (Electric Type) [Female] Moves: Thunder / Giga Impact / Focus Blast / Rest HM Moves: Strength / Rock Smash / Rock Climb Ability: Motor Drive Mamoswine (Ice/Ground Type) [Male] Moves: Earthquake / Blizzard / Dig / Hyper Beam HM Moves: Strength / Rock Smash / Rock Climb Ability: Oblivious Gliscor was blasted back by the Ice Beam but remained airborne and battle ready. "They're good, but let's show them how we hit!" Evangaleen shouted. Swampert was offensively ignored. Magnezone was checked hard by Mamoswine's Hyper Beam, and Gliscor flew towards Magnezone with Night Slash at the ready. Tyranitar ate a whallop of damage from the combined assault of Electivire's Focus Blast and Yanmega's Bug Buzz. Tyranitar was nearly knocked off the roof, but managed to rear itself back into the fight. A sandstorm picked up rapidly. Tyranitar certainly knew how to make things interesting. The Yanmega struggling against the vicious winds and Electivire shielded its eyes as the raging sand bit into the both of them. ----- Synopsis of Part 2 (Main Entrance Battle): All three targeted Pokémon took serious damage. Crawdaunt is paralyzed, Rampardos knocked Impact for a loop and is now prepared to hit Manetric (Pike) with Head Smash, and Abomasnow threw caution to the wind and is charging Matthias with a Wood Hammer. Crawdaunt shuddered violently when Discharge blasted it. The high velocity needles of Impact's rifle peppered the Rampardos before it could even begin its charge. Abomasnow shielded itself with its large arms, but Matthias had done admirable damage to the beast. Crawdaunt rose up, but slumped down against, struggling against its own body. Pike had paralyzed it! "Ugh! Bitch!" Moon called, then tried to encourage Crawdaunt. It wasn't getting up this round, though. Rampardos shielded itself from further damage by Impact's rifle, then gave him some fighting type damage of its own with Focus Blast. Impact finally stopped falling when his back collided with a police car. The car absorbed the brunt of the pain that Impact would have suffered through. Rampardos then turned to Manetric and, judging from the way it brought its head down, Rampardos had a Head Smash with Manetric's name on it. Abomasnow apparently had a short temper. Believe it or not, the Abomasnow actually charged Matthias with Wood Hammer with wild abandon. But it was still a powerful attack against just about anything, so Mattias only had a brief moment to react before he'd end up being knocked back like Impact was. ----- Synopsis of Part 3 (Subway Battle): Salamence is down, bitches! Too much ice damage, obviously. The Golem has returned with a Crobat in tow, and presents a great problem because it knows Explosion. Salamence gave a massive, ear-splitting roar as its powerful legs gave under the weakness further exploited by Rakald's Ice Beam. The powerful dragon crumpled and fell, creating a large plume of airborne dirt. It didn't stirr after that. "Salamence is down," Rayleen reported. "That leaves the Heatran and...wait...oh, shit. I think that Golem is back, with a little reinforcement." A giant boulder rolled towards them and halted suddenly, uncurling into the large Golem while the air was violated by the vicious wings of a Crobat. "Oh, look. A wild Crobat appeared." The scouters identified the Golem and Crobat. Golem (Rock/Ground Type) [Male] Moves: Double Edge / Stone Edge / Earthquake / Explosion HM Moves: Strength / Rock Smash / Rock Climb Ability: Rock Head Crobat (Poison/Flying Type) [Female] Moves: Air Slash / Wing Attack / Poison Cross / Confuse Ray HM Moves: Fly / Defog Ability: Inner Focus "Damn, that Golem knows Explosion. I'm certain that Golem and its Crobat ally are wild Pokémon that live down here. If we can get rid of that Heatran fast, we may be able to persuade them to call it a day or go lick their wounds somewhere. I'd really rather not have the Golem exploding and fucking us all up." ----- Synopsis of Part 4 (Back Entrance): Isaac sees Brettan with no deployed Pokémon, Dusknoir, and discovers an Ariados, but nobody's seen him yet. Isaac saw Bretton talking with the Dusknoir. Well, actually it was more like confiding information to Dusknoir, knowing that Dusknoir wasn't all that willing to reveal embarrassing secrets. Bretton was also smoking, but he didn't look of age. Didn't matter, really. Isaac couldn't see the other Rogue that was probably with Bretton, but the scouter picked it up for him. Dusknoir (Ghost Type) [Female] Moves: Future Sight / Shadow Punch / Confuse Ray / Dark Pulse HM Moves: Strength / Rock Smash Ability: Pressure Ariados (Bug/Poison Type) [Female] Moves: SolarBeam / Poison Jab / Psychic / Bug Bite HM Moves: None Ability: Swarm Isaac instinctively had the scouter put a crosshair on the Ariados to pinpoint its location. Not far from Bretton and Dusknoir, the alleyway opened a little wider and the Ariados was on the wall in the blindspot. Last edited by Astral Harmony; 02-18-2010 at 02:01 PM. |

Impact grunted in pain as he -the irony escaped him for the moment- impacted against the cop car. It buffered him, but he hadn't been wearing any anti-fighting armor, so he took some of the impact with his ribcage. He lay winded for a few seconds, barely keeping hold of the rifle, and looked up again, prepared to see the Rampardos standing over him. Instead he saw Rampardos preparing its attack, brought up the rifle instinctively. He was closer to it now, he could probably send the rest of the clip through its scaly hide, particularly since he had a pretty good shot at the neck. He paused for a tiny moment, suddenly aware that part of him was raging. What was he doing, really? Fighting? Here? For what? Victory? Achievement of his goals? No, he was supporting corruption by destroying corruption, let it attack, let the criminals win, wipe out his allies, it wouldn't matter... But he shook it off, aimed again. He didn't have time for this. Not yet. Not now. He fired again, emptying the clip with a drawn-out series of blasts.

"You okay?" Pierce asked Tyranitar, when the latter recovered from the powerful assault. Tyranitar nodded and roared, showing that it was good for another round, as it's Sand Stream ability kicked in. A powerful sandstorm engulfed the roof. Pierce was proud of him for his bravery, but Tyranitar was going to have to play it safe for now. Pierce could've had him use Stone Edge on Yanmega again while Blaziken used Sunny Day, but that would leave Tyranitar wide open for another assault, and he couldn't take that kind of beating for long. Sunny Day would have to wait.
Blaziken was affected somewhat by the sandstorm, but he simply shrugged it off. Tyranitar ate some of the Leftovers he was carrying, which energized him a bit. Still, Pierce knew it wasn't enough. "Tyranitar, use Protect." Pierce said, earning him a complaining look from the massive pokemon. Even so, he complied. Blaziken was rather ticked from being ignored by everyone's attacks, and Pierce understood. "Blaziken, give that Yanmega a dose a Fire Blast!" Blaziken nodded, and closed his eyes for a second, concentrating. Then he opened them and shot out a large star-shaped blast of fire from his mouth, directed at the large bug pokemon.

With the Salamence out of the way Mike had only a small window of opportunity to snag the Heatran before his allies decided to take it out with another all-out attack. Unfortunately he would still need to beat it down a bit more before he would have a chance to catch it.
"Dragonite! Charizard! Both of you use rock smash on the Heatran!" Charizard was the first to react out of the two, and rushed Heatran head on. Mike couldn't help but appreciate his pokemon's bold and reckless action, since it would draw attention away from his already wounded Dragonite who was approaching Heatran from behind. As the two dragons swung their fists at the Heatran, Mike grabbed a Snagball from the pouch on his left hip and threw it with uncanny accuracy straight at the Heatran's eye.

"Magnezone, hang in there! Just shake it off, it's not that effective against you. Retaliate with Flash Cannon!"
"Magne!" It surged with electric power that channeled along its body, its screw shaped tail gathering energy that shot out with a silver light toward the offending Mamoswine. Renny's composure was shaken as the battle started. Originally, his intent was to have Swampert use Earth Power and Surf, both would had little to no effect against his Magnezone. With the presence of Blaziken and Tyranitar however, he felt locked down since he felt that hitting an ally's pokemon heavily was unacceptable. While he was all for team-work, he never liked a hastily planned one and this was why. He did however have a trump card... "Outrage!" Swampert pounded the ground with a vicious expression of aggression, as its body glowed with a draconian aura, launching itself with vicious speed Gliscor, smashing powerfully with the force and element typing of a dragon. -------------------- Swampert Outrage for physical dragon element damage that targets all opposing pokemon, but not target ally pokemon. Lasts for two or three turns before making Swampert confused. No Same Type Attribute Bonus (STAB) but high attack stat on a physical move. Magnezone shoot Flash Cannon for steel type special attack against Mamoswine for STAB and type advantage. ^^ For that note, I kinda smirked at the Hyper Beam because in game that would be mostly ineffective. Mamoswine has a poor special attack stat which Hyper Beam is based on (Giga Impact is the exact same as Hyper Beam but uses Attack stat instead which Mamoswine is much better with) and Mamoswine isn't normal type so it doesn't get a STAB bonus. In addition, Steel resist normal type attacks and since Magnezone has a relatively high Special Defense... ^___^ Last edited by Menarker; 02-19-2010 at 11:54 AM. |
