However one background Easter Egg which was removed due to credit-placement was the "Faux-Armoire of Invincibility" on page 1. That was Brian's idea. The little sign that has the credits on it originally had text which indicated it was the Armoire, but it got changed. I dunno if I shoulda pointed that out or not, it seems less easter-eggy now that I told you it was there.. ah well, I tell it to you anyway

I'd just like to say that I've read NP for years (including all of 8bt) and never before been inclined to join the forums. yet here I am today, jumping through new user registration posts, simply to say:
holy crap fighter is hawt! where do I go to get some sekrit fighter pr0n? I would *totally* be sects buddies with him...=) |

I thought it was wonderful The writing, the drawing, everything.
All I have to say is: I'll miss you 8-bit theater. Hope I enjoy Brian's other works as much as this one. |

I also loved seeing the sword-chucks on fighter. Given that he possesses all of his appendages, he's either mastered them, or never used them. But they look awesome, regardless.
I've seen the eating-through-the-mask joke before, it's a favorite among Kakashi fans, but still very well done. 8-bit theater going on to FF2? Would that be the FF2 that the US didn't see for many years, or the relabeled FF4? I'd love to see a 16-bit theater out of that. Cecil being quite an emo-child, Kain always wanting to tap Cecil's sloppy seconds... somehow, I see Edge being descended from Thief. And Mysidia would be a trip... Black Mages everywhere with nary a Fighter in sight... just lots of White Mages with big, big hammers. The Paladin story could be explained with some sort of Mysidian Idol scheme, where nobody's ever won previously (plenty of Black Magey-William Hungs who tried, though). And plenty of "double moons" jokes to satisfy the basest of interests. Wouldn't come as a shock to me to find Bahamut being forced to move to the Lunitarian moon after losing the house to the witch in the divorce, leaving their bastard children to run rampant in various caves without adequate parental supervision. And in the Land of the Summoned Monsters, Asura's mood swings could be simply explained, yet so, so epic....

So, I was totally right about the epic-logue/other project! I feel proud.
Also, I liked it. Thanks, Brian/Matt/Jeff!

I did a lot of posting on here as a teenager, and I was pretty awful. Even after I learned, grew up, and came to be on the right side of a lot of important issues, I was still angry, abrasive, and generally increased the amount of hate in the world, in pretty unacceptable ways. On the off chance that someone is taking a trip down memory lane looking through those old threads, I wanted to devote my signature to say directly to you, I'm sorry. Thank you for letting me be better, NPF. |

Well that's that. Thanks for the ride, Brian!
Why the big deal about Red Mage's mask though? We've seen him without it plenty of times. Well, we've seen DEBORAH, but close enough right? |

On another note - in panel 1, is that the old man in blue that stole Fighter and BM's money in the first place?
