That's only in Ocarina of Time, versus those stupid witches. In most games, it reflects energy directly back. And, even in OoT, he doesn't take damage when the magic is nullified, he merely has to start charging the magic to shoot back from scratch again.

BM only has one hadoken per day, and Link would DEFINATELY notice him charging it up. He's fought other mages with powerful/fast magic before, and has been able to see it charging/coming and switch from attack to having the shield in front of him in a fraction of a second.

Not to mention Naryu's love, which would make him invincible for the hadoken, milk that lets him keep his mp full constantly so he can keep Naryu lovin' into near infinity, Din's Fire, which would hit the entire team, interrupting BM's hadoken while he sits there charging, hookshot, arrows, bombs, arrowbombs (some of the games you can do that), magic arrows, boomerang, etc. to allow him to attack from long range.

And then a fairy brings Link back to life. And Link doesn't get hurt by anything as long as the shield is up. Or Nayru's Love. Complete and utter invulnerability.

Link can get hurt when his shield is up. It's an explosion, a giant one. It would blow Link apart.

He'll either use Nayru's Love to try to absorb all the damage, or he will play the Song of Time and go back in time three days to prevent the nukes from ever launching.

Light Warriors.

BM Does a Fighterdoken, Thiefdoken and RedMagedoken at Link. Link is caught by surprise by 3 pixelated characters and dies before he puts up any sort of defense.

If they're not fighting, Fighter stupidifes Link, RM 'twinks' Links Stats to where BM can stab Link to death, and Thief loots the body.
