Hahaha, yeah, good times.

I went to the coast last weekend. Really pretty, really rugged, and really... cold and windy. Seriously. It's freakin' AUGUST. The weather should be higher than 60-some-odd-degrees.

So then I went to Cannon Beach and HOLY CRAP RICK ZARBER!?!?!
*nerd's note: You might recognize that rock behind us if you've ever seen THE GOONIES.

Turns out Zarber was on the western half of the county on family business (which I'm sure means he's involved in the mafia somehow) so we decided to have THE KICKASS ADVENTURES OF DEMON, RICK AND MAUVE IN REAL LIFE EXCEPT DEMON IS A JERK AND COULDN'T COME. So then of course the power of the combined awesomeness of Mauve and Zarber on the same half of the country threatened to destroy mankind as we know it, so we had to balance out the supremely awesome nerdery with something resembling a sport. Which turned out to be minigolf. AND I TOTALLY WON SOMEHOW.

Tremble in fear at our amazingly [not]awesome golf scores there. Yeah, we're pros.

Oh. And then I beat him at Mario Kart. He probably let me win, but as far as I'm concerned I TOTALLY BEAT HIM AT MARIO KART.

EDIT: OH WAIT I FORGOT THESE!!!

He brought tribute from distant lands.

YEEEEE ROBO AND DR MCNINJA!!!

And now I have a conscience. Great.

So were they ghosts that decided to become pirates after dying or were the they the ghosts of pirates who died? Because I think the latter would actually make them pirate ghosts, not ghost pirates.

Not really. Pirate ghosts would be the mindless shades left after a pirate's death to walk the ship and forever repeat their last actions. Ghost pirates would be ghosts of pirates who may or may not have actually died and would have their own minds and volitions to swashbuckle and pillage.

It's a total difference, and Mauve's is more awesome. XD

Ghost pirates, pirate ghosts... Call them what you will, they were real bastards. In any case, battle was joined, selfless deeds of heroism were performed, and Mauve gave me a souvenir agate!

Also, Mauve, I totally didn't Let You Win at Mario Kart. My working excuse is that you played that one previous round and so you knew what you were doing. I meanwhile was all, "Where the hell are my blue sparks?!" ...It's a shame we didn't get a picture of that weird photo-manip-thing the arcade did of you and me as Peach and Mario...

EDIT: Also, Oster, I do not recognize you without your long flowing hair!

An agate pried from the gem-encrusted lid of a ghost pirate treasure chest!!

And I dunno about the details; alls I know is that they were pirates, they were ghostly, and they made cool angry-ghostly noises when we pushed back their massive army to their Ghost Town Sand Ruin. Which I think Rick got a picture of.

And yes, we should've taken pictures of the Mario Kart Awesomeness. Although I'm fairly certain that would have interfered with our ability to drive.
