The last item thrown into the pack
I'm going now, and I won't look back For every meeting For every greeting It has left me happy and made me sad Regret tinges this, only just a tad All that I have known, precious friends It is my turn to go now, it's almost the end For I set off towards places unknown A little better now, I have grown I hoist the bag upon my shoulder With each step away I grow bolder Though...I will miss all that I met Though I feel I'm not much, and yet I turn back and I wave goodbye I will meet you all again, and I... I will come back, given time Last edited by BlackMageGirl!; 12-15-2004 at 02:25 PM. |

Homeward Bound:
In many stories, epics and books, The brave and underestimated Hero, He, through many ordeals undertook, Journeys forth to reach ground zero. His destination achieved, his task complete, After going through that joyous bliss, He sighs and mutters, gets back to his feet, And journeys home, through fog and mist. The reason I say "through the haze" Is because we so rarely hear The story of this ending phase, When home must seem so very near. But shouldn't this trip be just as eventful... As the first time, done in reverse? Why can't we learn of these untold 'ventures, Those unsung wanderings, that dark traverse? Perhaps because there's something sad, Depressing and gloomy, all in one, About this shadowed trip back home, After the tale is dead and done. A reiteration, a mirror of sorts, Of the past and previous ordeals, To include such'd be redundant Like Achilles, minus the heel. And so our hero journeys homeward, After the author has packed up shop, Echoes lead him onward, backward, of what once was, but now is not...

Due to several pending lawsuits, Blizzard's long anticipated next installment in the famed Starcraft series, Starcraft II, has been renamed "Funcraft II". In addition, according to a Blizzard spokesman, the game will no longer focus on interstellar battle but will instead be centered around the idea of nonviolent conflict resolution, with the game's ultimate goal being to bring about interstellar harmony. This is a poem I wrote about a Capture The Flag game in Halo 2
The Ride Of JesusMan Soldiers engaged, a pitiless brawl then out comes Jesus to end it all He fires his weapon from 300 yards Yohan dies and Pimp lost his guards The flags been returned thanks to the Lord then KillerX charges and Jesus is gored But Godfather and Epsilon are not far away they blast Black Widox and the battle is swayed Old Ass Cancer and Delta protect the base and the Messiah grabs the flag, just to save face Its now four to four and blood runs hot red thinks they'll win but they will not For jesus rides in on his purple warhorse he scores again and blue wins of course

This is by me during 8-bit chat. I thought it was ok enough to post.
I wish to remain anonymous. Doh, I already screwed that up. Here it is: But doth not one, Who lives by the gun, Ask for an end Where he made his den?

An attempt at Dante's style of poetry. (Dante's Inferno, Dante, mind you.) Not very good, but here you go.
Dreams of stars and dreams of love, Reflect his true desires, Show that he lives up above. Within his eyes, I see fires, Thoughts oh so tempting, oh so great. No one dares call him a liar. No rest for him, he thinks it's fate, Hand closing around his locket. Promised that he'd be back, not late. He closed his eyes - not to knock it - Shed some tears of joy. The engine rumbles - off goes the rocket. A real rocket, not a toy, This man, smiles, so happy, Dream now real, inner boy.

"Bad Day"
Had a bad day again Things look dark in your eyes Petty worries, small pains Intensify into larger issues Broken cup, lost book One wrong turn plunges you deeper Things just...don't seem right Every hesitation Every misplaced item Every wrong word Every misspelling Speaks more to you than it should Your well of safety The oasis in the desert Has dried up, if only for today And you shut yourself away For today is not what it should be Everyone seems distant Constantly misunderstood And far away, so far away Are all of the ideals That you take comfort in For this one day You are not yourself Rather a ghost, a shell And you leave that message Showing plainly on your face "I will be me again...just not today." Blood covers the streets in the city of Dallas
Blood finds it's way onto somebody's hands Blood is the substance we all don't understand Because blood is the life upon which we all live Blood stains the shirt of a boy in a parking lot Blood drips upon the edge of a knife Blood on the skin and blood on his hair If you would open up your eyes you'd see the blood everywhere Blood on his fist that he lifts to his face Blood is the smell that he knows all too well Blood is what he'll swim in once he finally goes to hell But the blood is what he needs and he knows that too well.

Did You Ever Hear
The Story Of The Christmas Tree Who Just Didn't Want To Change The Show He Liked Living In The Woods And Playing With Squirrels He Liked Icicles And Snow. He Liked Wolves And Eagles And GrizzyBears And Critters And Creatures That Crawled. Why Bugs Were Some Of His Very Best Friends, Spiders And Ants And All. Now That's Not To Say That He Ever Looked Down On The Vision Of Twinkling Lights, Or On Mirrored Bubbles And Peppermint Canes And A Thousand Other Delights. And He Often Had Dreams Of Tiny Reindeer And A Jolly Man And A Sleigh Full Of Toys And Presents And Wonderful Things And The Story Of Christmas Day. Oh, Alfie Believed In Christmas All Right, He Was Full Of Christmas Cheer. All Of Each And Every Day And All Throughout he Year. To Him It Was More Than A Special Time Much More Than A Special Day, It Was More Than A Beautiful Story, It Was A Special Kind Of Way. You See, Some Folks Have Never Heard A Jingle Bell, And They've Never Heard Of Santa Claus. They've Never Heard The Story Of The Son Of God. And That Made Alfie Pause. Did That Mean That They'd Never Know Of Peace On Earth Or The Brotherhood Of Man? Or Know How To Love, Or Know How To Give? If They Can't,No One Can. You See, Life Is A Very Special Kind Of Thing, Not Just For A Chosen Few. But For Each And Every Living Breathing Thing. Not Just Me And You. So In Your Christmas Prayers This Year Alfie Asked Me If I'd Ask You To Say A Prayer For The Wind,And The Water, And The Wood, And Those Who Live There, Too. By John Denver

(huh, another sad poem...)
How is it that you can see.... The pain that used to be Does my eyes clearly show And to where now do we go... You never stayed by my side I was your shame, you tried to hide Why do you shy away from my touch? And just why to you, I mean so much? I am filled with bitterness, empty soul My thoughts are all gone, void and null I cannot see more than your retreating back And those thorns you speak, your every attack I stand here, after your final farewell This sad little tale, what's left to tell You thought me cruel, I thought you cold And thus our little tale has ended, I'm told.... |

"Reformed"
I'm battered and broken, My words, left unspoken, My heart is breaking now, In my mind I'm asking how. How did it go wrong? Did I take too long? Should one leap and test out fate? I don't know, now it's too late. Finding solace in the dark, Rejection now has left a mark. A scar that will not go away, Will mark me 'til the end of days. Simple thoughts of one so pure, That alone was the big lure, It brought me close to her, But I didn't know for sure... I didn't know; she loved me too, Now it's too late, what can I do? She's in his arms, smiling bright, I see it all, cringe at the sight. What can I do but sit and sigh? It's not the end, there's change nearby. I'll get up, and go along, It's okay; I will move on.
