She's a soldier, and I don't mean that as in "army soldier" but as in her class. She fights on the front lines with no biotics or technological powers, with heavy armor and taking a lot of shots. But no - remember the look of medium and heavy armor on ME1 and 2 - she's basically been mixed with Miranda, who's pretty much a space mage.

I am 94% sure the transgender thing was a complete and utter lie by some no-name gaming site, that was then blown up and spread around by 4chan /v/ cause they despise Bioware right now, and will jump onto anything that seems "wrong" even if there is no proof/source.

And from what I seen from the /v/ threads and the original article, I found no source at all. (You would also think when everything else was leaked a week ago, that would be too, not the day of release).

And Mass Effect has always been at the forefront of realism.

Regardless, it's irrelevant because Ashley isn't trans, so you're essentially arguing about an alternate universe where she is, in which case we could easily assume she would have a different design were that the case.
