ON THAT NOTE:
Well well well, lookie here. TIM being out to kill you, EDI's....change, and The Prothean appearance retcon all make nice, neat sense that fits right into the context of the game. Rad.

...That being said (and before you go into attack-Snake-because-you-hates-him mode I was joking, Marc) I have to say the gameplay in many of the fight sequences is the best in the series. The difficulty has been ramped up a notch, to the extent that I'm struggling far more in Normal in ME3 than I did in Veteran in ME2; guns handle better; improved melee means I don't have to spend the entire damn time pressed against cover; squadmate AI has improved to an extent that it's actually feasible to rely on them to do shit intelligently without even being told. . . . MINOR MASS EFFECT THREE SPOILERS BELOW CORRESPONDING WITH ROUGHLY THE FIRST EIGHT HOURS OF THE GAME . . . . . . . ...So there, I'm not horribly biased against ME3! The Prothean twist and the From Ashes DLC in general was actually handled better than I thought, and the Prothean VA sounds better than he did in those preliminary combat snippets I reacted poorly to. In fact, Javik right now is one of my favorite characters. His character design may have been a retcon, but it's a retcon I wholly approve of. That all being said, ME3 is still my least favorite game of the series, and the story's all kinds of awful in many other respects. EDI's intro was still awful. I don't care that Bioware tried to half-ass its way around an explanation to justify why EDI would be in a sexy robot body, the bottom line is they still basically concocted that explanation out of thin air solely so EDI could provide some sexbot fan service. And EDI's introduction sequence is hella terrible. Shepard's obsession with the random boy annoys the crap out of me, particularly when Shepard randomly introduces the boy into all kinds of discussions with other characters when the boy isn't even a dialogue choice. I'm like "Let's talk to Garrus about how Earth and Palaven's gone through shit" and Shepard's like "Garrus, I saw this boy die in front of me and OH GOD I'M HORRIBLY SCARRED nevermind the fact that I've totally seen thousands upon thousands of people died before and I've made tough decisions that have led to the death of hundreds of other kids and I lost my family when I was young and there are far more important people in my life who I've seen suffer." And the dream sequences are aaaaarrrrgggghhhhh ...Turians are total bros, though. This game's made me appreciate the Turians a lot more, and the Asari much less.
