Thomas entered the berth across from Kaitlyn. He looked at her for a moment.
She's cute I wonder who she is. he placed the tube in his mouth as instructed. something worth waking up to find out.

It took a few seconds to find two empty berths next to each other. Ranyard lead Sarah to one of them and helped her get in.
"This is it, honey." he said soothingly. "We just go into these and go to sleep." The little girl looked around the pod nervously. A guard came up. "Sir, I need to get into a berth..." "Let me help the kid, please." Raynard said. "She's scared." The guard looked at the man, then down at the little girl. Then he gave a sad smile. "Yeah, go ahead and help her out." "Thank you." Raynard said. The guard shook his head. "It's no problem." he said, then looked at Sarah. "She reminds me of my daughter. I was hoping to get home and be with her at the end, but with the riot..." "You'll get home." Raynard said with as much conviction as he could fake. Lord, please let this man see his daughter in this life once more.... The man smiled saidly again, then shook Raynard's hand, and walked away. Raynard turned back to Sarah, and helped her get the tube down her throat. "I need to go into my own bed now, Sarah. I'll be right here when you wake up." The girl, unable to saw anything with the tube in her mouth, nodded. Raynard climbed into his own berth, and gagged slightly as the tube went down his throat. Then he leaned back, closed his eyes, and waited for whatever was going to happen to happen.

Razma couldn't remember exactly, but Jacob had said something about his chamber having differences. Though he had no idea where exactly his was, so he started wandering around, examining them until he thought he found one.
After a few minutes of looking, he came across one which judging by everyone around it should have been occupied. Right on the bottom, almost unnoticable, was Jacob's signature. There was no way for him to tell if there was anything different, but if there was this one would have it. He got in and followed the instructions, though he wiped off the tube before sticking it down him mouth. |

"A dream realized at the cost of billions of human lives."
Colonel Fergusen personally helped Olivia and Claire into their berths. They had little trouble getting the tubes down. The guns were returned to the soldiers and everything was secure. Now they just had to wait.
"It's finally time," Claire said. Olivia giggled. "What?" "You say it's finally time, but we weren't even scheduled to leave today, ha ha ha!" Claire smiled at the thought. "Ah, that is right, isn't it?" Olivia frowned. "I always wanted to get out and see new things, but I never thought I'd be doing it as a refugee from the destruction of our world." "Yeah," Claire said sorrowfully. "To have your dream about to be realized at the cost of billions of lives. Not exactly a happy cost to your goal." Olivia nodded and closed her eyes. "Well, since it's such a huge cost, I better be extremely grateful that I'm getting to see all these new things." Claire didn't respond and Olivia assumed she was getting ready as well. |

Henry entered a berth, though he didn't care who he was next to or across or upside down or whatever. It wasn't like he particularly cared to sit by anyone; he hadn't talked to any one of them when he got back. Perhaps he should've, considering if he woke up he would have nobody he knew.
Oh well, too late for that. He didn't know what he was supposed to feel or say, but he'd probably die anyway. |

OOC: Sorry about not posting at all. I just couldn't think of anything. Oh well, time to play the catch up game.
IC: Mark had been moping when the vans had come, and had gone willingly. Something inside him wanted him to just sit on his bed and let the vans go, but his survival instincts got the better of him and made him go. He was on the verge of tears during the whole ride, but like he had for the past couple of days, he kept them from escaping. While waiting, he just sat next to his mom and said nothing. All he did was look at his feet the entire time. Anyone who saw him just saw a blank look on his face. He didn't know what to think or say, and it was really getting to him. Even the music from Ray's harmonica didn't help his mood, it just made him slump over a little bit more. When the rioting started, Mark was beginning to get really scared. He knewhe was scared before, but he thought it would at least be safe. Making sure to stay with his mom no matter what. He didn't know how they stayed together, but somehow, they made it to the Mayflower. Upon entering, Mark saw his dad waiting next to three empty hibernation berths. While Mark was relieved to see his father, the reunion was cut short because they had to hurry and go into hibernation. The boy felt horrible. He hadn't seen his father in weeks and he could barely even say something to him. "I hate this... All of it..." Mark thought as he tried a few times to put the tube down his throat. It definitely wasn't pleasant, especially when he started to gag by accident after trying the first time. When he was finally successful, Mark just closed his eyes and hoped everything would be alright when he woke up, that this was all just a bad nightmare. OOC: I hate glazing through everything like that, but I can't really think much... Geez, I really have to keep up with this better. Last edited by lazy man; 07-07-2005 at 09:44 PM. |

(i LOVE playing the catch-up game! anyway, i was in europe, so i couldnt post.)
OOC: also, i just felt like changing my character's name. trying to stay in the darkness for a while, Amit didnt really feel like talking to anyone. he really didnt know what to say. but, seeing as how he was chosen to be on the Mayflower, he was quite glad. although he was glad, he felt really scared about what might happen to him on this strange planet. would he die?? thoughts of backing out of this whole thing rushed through his mind. strapping himself into his seat, he decided to calm down and go with the flow. besides, he had cheated death before in his army days, so he believed that he would definetely be able to do so again. The Tsosies followed the mob for a while until Jay recognized another of the eighty.
He pulled on Jack's sleeve, and soon they were in the berth, and in their pods. (OOC: I'm tired and I just didn't want to get left behind. Jack has some serious character problems coming up)

Before any of the 80 could realize it, the ship had been blasted into space, leaving the frantic people behind to their own devices.
The two pilots of the ship were the only ones still awake. They were the ones to see the infinate blackness of space, the ones to see the asteroid coming. Against it's starry black background, the comet looked like it was hardly moving. If one of the 80 would have seen it, they might have thought, "Oh, that's no problem! Why were we all worried anyway?" But as it drew closer to the earth, one could see how fast the asteroid was really approaching. "Sir," The younger of the two said softly, "we need to get in our pods now." The older one, sat motionless in his chair, and just stared at the image of earth of his screen. "Sir?" The young man said again, shaking the older one out of his daze. "Right... right..." The pilot said, blinking a couple times, "You go ahead into yours, I'll just make sure we're out of orbit." He said and waved the young man back dismissively. Once alone again, the older man resumed watching the earth. He had been a fairly successful man on earth, living with his wife and two children, he wanted to finish living out his days with his wife, until the end. But NASA had called on him to pilot the ship away from earth. He wasn't even allowed a berth for his family. All of them had been taken already. He agreed to help the future of earth make get their best shot as survival, as far as launch and getting on a safe track, but he had promised nothing more. He was no longer needed, and he refused to let his wife and child die before him, still stuck on that godforsaken planet. Still staring at the planet with empty eyes, he pulled out his gun and turned off the safety. "My duty is done." --------------- (OOC: End of chapter 1!! yaayness. heh. before too long, chapter 2 will be up, and don't forget about what I had said in my very first post of the sign up.... are you guys ready for some mutations?)
