Does anyone know where I can download a free and safe (malicious script/programming-wise) copy of Might and Magic VII: for Blood and Honor? I would take back my request if it would be illegal to download it, but seeing as it was a Windows 98/ME game whose last version was pulled from sale over six years ago, I was hoping it would be fine.

Blue Wish Resurrection (click the left button [you'll see] to download)
Company's site - beware, japanese It's an awesome, completely free Bullet Hell SHUMP. Difficult, but in an awesome way. Good soundtrack, and some unlockables, including a true final boss that I'm willing to bet noone here will be able to even get to legitimately, as you need to beat the rest of the game on hell mode (the hardest difficulty) without using a continue. It even has decent sprite-based graphics, but you'll be so busy dodging bullets you won't really notice :p |

Beyond Evolution www.beyondevo.com its yet another one of many non-round browser based games. Its very new and they are still working on it & I've only recently started playing it so to be honest I don't know how good it will be but the reason I'm posting it is its been fairly fun so far and its claim is that you are a time-traveling caveman...and well that's just friggin cool.

Well, since the original post has finally reached the character limit, it's time to start a new list.
Beyond Evolution. its yet another one of many non-round browser based games. Its very new and they are still working on it & I've only recently started playing it so to be honest I don't know how good it will be but the reason I'm posting it is its been fairly fun so far and its claim is that you are a time-traveling caveman...and well that's just friggin cool. Submitted by lekapitan. Wurm. Not quite sure where you'd put it, I guess MMO. It's Java based, I believe, and in many ways similar to but superior to Runescape. One noteworthy thing is that it's fairly realistic, trees and minerals and such don't just magically respawn. Also, not all items/raw materials are created equal in this thing. Pretty much all items have a quality stat. Submitted by catlover20410 Grid Wars 2, by Mark Incitti. You click on "Grid Wars 2" to download And who could forget Lode Runner Online: Mad Monks' Revenge? In today's money, that game cost $70.27. Submitted by wasoe. Minions Of Mirth. It is an MMO for Mac and Windows there is a premium version for $30 but there is also a free version of it. Submitted by Vault Of Thrones. Urban Dead. It's a really fun MMO where you play as a zombie/survivor in a big old town. It's text based. Submitted by Mr Bookworm. Bunny Must Die. This game is a lot like a Metroid or a Castlevanina game. It is extremely fun, but all of the important text is in Japanese. You need to install the East Asian Language Files in the Control Panel section marked Regional and language options, if you haven't already. Submitted by Roadkill. I Wanna Be The Guy. Do you like 8-bit? Do you like old skoool Nintendo games? Do you like getting your backside handed to you over, and over, and over again? Think the game you're playing is hard? This is the game that kicked your dog and stole your bike in the 4th grade. This game invited you over for dinner, and served up a big ol' helping of your family. This game is Satan-spawned.** And it's also really fun and addicting, too. Submitted by neyo the king. Barkley's Shut Up and Jam: Gaiden. If you're not playing Barkley's Shut Up and Jam: Gaiden, you're doing yourself a disservice. It's one of the most hilarious games I've ever played. The Great B-Ball Purge of 2041, a day so painful to some that it is referred to only as the "B-Ballnacht". Thousands upon thousands of the world's greatest ballers were massacred in a swath of violence and sports bigotry as the game was outlawed worldwide. The reason: the Chaos Dunk, a jam so powerful its mere existence threatens the balance of chaos and order. Among the few ballers and fans that survived the basketball genocide was Charles Barkley, the man capable of performing the "Verboten Jam"... Flash forward 12 years to the post-cyberpocalyptic ruins of Neo New York, 2053. A Chaos Dunk rocks the island of Manhattan, killing 15 million. When the finger is put on the aging Charles Barkley, he must evade the capture of the B-Ball Removal Department, led by former friend and baller Michael Jordan, and disappear into the dangerous underground of the post-cyberpocalypse to clear his name and find out the mysterious truth behind the Chaos Dunk. Joined by allies along the way, including his son Hoopz, Barkley must face the dangers of a life he thought he gave up a long time ago and discover the secrets behind the terrorist organization B.L.O.O.D.M.O.S.E.S. Submitted by Novasol. Bots. Simple MMO. You choose from one of three 'bot' machines to control. Then go through little missions for gigas(form of currency) and xp to level up. One cool thing about it is that being higher level doesn't make you stronger, only allows you to wield stronger parts and gear for you bot. I have beaten others who are 10+ lvls above me in pvp. Drawbacks are the chat system and the special items. The chat in both the lobby and during missions is limited to so many characters. And getting anything past the regular upgrade items costs real money. You can get items with bonuses on them(ranging from +1 to +5) which are gotten after a boss is defeated, but they only drop rarely, and if you are playing in a big group then it's a mad rush for the box. Submitted by Eldazar. http://www.schtserv.com. Free server for PSO, PSO:BB and PSO 3. Yes its legal. Sega gave them permission to do so and they possibly pay sega in order to make it free for us. (and sega can't make money off of it anyways no more they moved on to psu) If you disagree I'll delete link and also form my sig. Submitted by ZurikSimer. (If not legal I'll just take it off of the list. I believe it is though). Dwarf Fortress: http://www.bay12games.com/dwarves/. Generate a world, make some dwarves, and build your fortress! Also has an Adventure mode, where you can wonder your world, taking quests from the other civilizations. Has a REALLY steep learning curve, so take a look at the wiki (http://www.dwarffortresswiki.net/index.php/Main_Page) for tips. Submitted by nubecybot. A Path Beyond. Free, Legal, Stand-Alone mod for Command and Conquer: Renegade by Bluehell Productions. Basically, it's a first person shooter that uses CnC: Red Alert units, vehicles, and buildings. System requirements are low enough that you don't need an awesome computer to play, but it also scales pretty nicely for those of us who do. For those of you who have concerns about the playability of the game, fret not. It's very well made overall. Only major complaint is that server size is limited to 26 players at a time, which can make it a little difficult to get in at certain times of day. (though, perhaps, they might be convinced to expand the size) Screenshots can be found here. Submitted by Loyal2Nes Cortex Command. It's basically Worms in realtime, with resource management and a build screen and base construction and AWESOME. It's also near-infinitely moddable. Only problem: The full version costs 20 bucks Canadian. Demo is free though, and very accessible. Submitted by Kerensky287. Battleships Forever. Submitted by Dauntasa. ADOM. Extensive Rogue-like. Think Nethack on steroids. Has Mac betas, Linux, Windows, and DOS versions available. Submitted by McTahr. Star Control 2. One of my favorite "old" PC games Star Control 2 went open source and is now being made into a superior version. Dont be afraid of the Beta tag, its a soldi release with very few bugs. They just never got around to adding in the extras they wanted to. They still managed to merge the voice and animation from the 3DO version, however. I suggest trying it, its quite fun. Submitted by Cid Highwind. Combat Arms Saw this one on the back of PC Gamer and decided to check it out. It's actually a really good FPS, the graphics are great for a free game, and the community isn't all 10 year olds. Submitted by Rokrin. Samurai of Legend. It's a decent game and similar in the way that Kingdom of Loathing plays. It allows you to get married, get a job, buy a house, adventure, kill things. I find it fun. Submitted by Ironymaster. Gang Garrison. It's basically a 2D version of Team Fortress 2. It's a really fun online game and I'm really blown away at how things are implemented for just a 2D online shooter. I'd personally recommend downloading the latest version as (despite what it says) I have the least amount of server issues and you can do a whole lot more. It's still under development though (Engineers are unable to make Sentry guns right now if I remember correctly), but loads of fun. Submitted by Savage Thinking. Shopping Cart Hero. A fun little flash game. Submitted by Mac. Original Zork Text adventure. Submitted by TheSparrow. Moria (warning: this game is no longer maintained) or Angband or any of its Variants These games are available for windows(except for moria), Linux or Mac. Rougelikes. Submitted by TheSparrow. CardMaster Conflict. It's a free and fun CCG, with creations from the mind of Mark Shallow (creator of ADVENTURERS!, Antihero for Hire and more), featuring cameos of various other webcomic artists and in-depth player involvement. I've played over six thousand matches, personally, so I thought I'd give it a proper shout-out here. Submitted by Whomper. Magic Duel. This game promotes a non-spoiler attitude. Meaning, no player is allowed to tell you how to solve a quest, defeat an NPC, what this monster's stats are, etc... You develop your own strategy and find things out for yourself. It also greatly promotes role-play. Hints are ok in some cases. SOME. Players actually CREATE some of the quests and can GIVE A REWARD. If you have been part of the game for some time, you begin to have a say in how it expands. There is one player that is about to have his home/smithy actually integrated into the game. The house is already there, just needs an interior coded and drawn. Submitted by Eldezar. The Elder Scrolls: Daggerfall. Free open-world RPG, and the birth of the much love Elder Scrolls series. Submitted by Corel. Battlefield Heroes. A fun little TF2-esque third person shooter. You get experience and level up and earn money you can use to buy new weapons, and you level up abilities as you gain experience as well. Two factions (Allies and Nazis, although they don't go so far as to SAY that), and you can either be a spy-like thing, a heavy weapons guy, or a standard infantrymen. Has vehicles. Submitted by Rokrin. Mabinogi. Free MMO. There's free games with better graphics, but this by far has the most dynamic gameplay. The amount of skills and things you can do are amazing.. You can even compose your own music, sit on a street corner, and get donations for entertaining people. Submitted by BattyAsHell. Atlantica Online. This is unique, for being a turn based MMO. Think Final Fantasy Tactics, with a timer. You can eventually accumulate up to 8 mercs, and in PvP you join other groups for big 100 on 100 battles.. It can get a bit nuts. The best thing about this game, is the cash shop is totally optional.. You can experience all the content, without ever spending a dime. Submitted by BattyAsHell. Survival Crisis Z. Sandbox style isometric survival horror. Submitted by BattyAsHell. Iji. Free platformer with RPG elements, different endings and different playstyles. Submitted by BattyAsHell. Knytt Stories. The sequel to Knytt, with a heavy focus on community-created map packs, as well as official ones. Submitted by Batty As Hell. osu!. Ouendan/Elite Beat Agents clone with step editor for creating your own "levels". Submitted by WillyFourEyes. Quake Live. Quake III Arena in a browser with fullscreen and widescreen support. Submitted by BattyAsHell. S4 League. S4 is a third person shooter with team deathmatch, a "football" type game, and an interesting mode called "Chaser" where one person is chosen randomly to be an overpowered boss type who's supposed to hunt down and kill all the normal players. Very stylish, and very easy to get into. Submitted by BattyAsHell. Knightfal. Seil killed Satan in a Bejeweled spinoff. Can you? Guess who submitted this one! Pixel Force: Left 4 DeadYou ever think, "I love Left 4 Dead, but it would be more awesome if it would be ported to the Nintendo Entertainment System!" Well, wonder no more, you can now download an 8-Bit styled Left 4 Dead game now, for free, over at Eric Ruth Games! Submitted by Lost in Time. Sushi cat Feed that fuckin' cat for points! Submitted by Jagos. Dink Smallwood is an old style RPG over a decade old but still pretty fun. It's compatible with Windows, Linux and Mac. It's high points are its "bizarre" humor, classic feel and utter shitload of player-made add-ons (or D-mods) for you to try. Submitted by Aldurin. Spelunky. An addictive platformer game where you, the Indiana Jones expy, explore a cave for fun and profit while trying to avoid the many, many things that can (and will) kill you. Submitted by Loyal. I'm finding it hard to believe that no one has mentioned Urban Dead yet.
It's a really fun MMO where you play as a zombie/survivor in a big old town. It's text based. |
