Have you turned off motion blur? I didn't get any slowdown with that off.
Also, my own nitpicking about the "Paragon" ending. I feel that the Paragon ending goes too far into the "Everyone wins best ending" ending. Because the whole point of the Noble Renegade (Concentrating all fire on the Sovereign) is that you can't save everyone so you're making a choice, eliminating the greatest threat to the galaxy at any cost. The Paragon ending kind of craps in the face of all that struggle, though, because it's saying "Yes you could actually save everyone you were incorrect about making difficult choices." Maybe Sovereign gets away in the paragon ending, maybe the alliance and council fleets are utterly crippled and ineffectual because of all their loses, I don't know, but some kind of serious consequence would be nice.

Ah, according to Gamespot, AC is being released on PC in February. Well, last time I get my game info from that other source.
Still. You know. Rage against the capitalist dogs and all that. |

Ok so when I first started the second playthrough I was thinking this is going to be a completely awesome slaughter. Well I was right about the slaughter part. However, I was totally wrong about the awesome part. It goes so far beyond awesome when you can circle strafe a Geth Colossus pistol blazing in Master Marksmen mode and take it down from full shields and health faster than you can kill it with the Mako. Seriously I can't even think of a word that would fit taking down what amounts to a two story tall walking tank with a pistol. I think I love this game.

Oh, yeah!
I'm loving this game! Now on my first restart. I'm not a Spectre yet, but I'm close to it. Like, right before it. I'm first rounding off and starting up a few more sidequest on the Citadel. It's so awesome, I'm loving it. And yes. There's some slow down at some points, but I'm not too bothered by it. What I AM bothered by, is that sometimes I get DDE's (Dirty Disk Errors) when the game is loading. Very frustrating. EDIT: I kill threads! Muahahahaha!

I started my first run-through as an Infiltrator.
I'm sure that in the New Game+ days, I won't have any problems, but MAN... I wish I had made my first character a Soldier. This is because the game occasionally requires that you FIGHT. You have no other options. As an Infiltrator, you can't fight as well as a Soldier can. Or, possibly, you CAN, but it involves using Tech skills, and when fired upon by robots / aliens or some combination thereof, Tech skills do not come to mind -- guns do. So yeah. I love this game.

My first run through was an infiltrator and it was fantastic. I even sacrificed two full skill trees by maxing out both charm and intimidate. Your pistol and sniper rifle should be more than adequate for dealing with any enemies and you've got your squadmates to act as shields. If it's a wide open fight your sniper rifle is a godsend and if it's not and you're getting flanked it might help to retreat to a bottleneck and pick them off as they lumber through, with either the sniper rifle or the pistol.
Edit: Yeah I know you might not think it was fantastic from my previous posts of anger but that fight's the hardest in the game and I went in there at level nine (and I still beat it) so cut me some slack.

I just discovered the second tier specter weapons. Life is good. Hopefully they get even better once I hit level 60.

Now I'm stuck fighting Benezia del Toro. I'm positive with a Soldier, at a comparable level, this shit would be vanilla. But noooo... Had to play an Infiltrator.
I can see why DFM got so pissed. Fucking commandos. I've been stuck on it since after work last night... Tried some more before work this morning... About to go try some more... And some more, tomorrow morning... Estimate that tomorrow after work at about this time I'll finally have beaten this battle. It is fucking HARD. ...Also: Am I supposed to be playing on Normal? Because, I figure, with a New Game+ option, shouldn't the "normal" and "hard" difficulties be for higher level characters? Ah well. If it gets too tough, I'll drop it to Easy. And then, if it gets too easy, I'll bring it to Normal. EDIT: Took me about ten retries, but... EAT IT WHORE! And when I say EAT IT, I refer of course the pistol-whip sammich I'm serving up, with a side course of acid bullets. Thankfully, I found out that you can skip the dialogue by pressing a button... The one which, on a PS2 controller, corresponds to the Square button. Still unfamiliar with the 360 layout, heh.

Then I noticed that I just threw the bonus content disc that came because I pre-ordered it. So then I threw the real copy this time. But no, seriously, I hated that fight. The worst part was trying to show Kat just how difficult it was and acing the whole damn thing.
