Pity it doesn't have the discussion threads though.

Myself, I hate it when the characters somehow come up to a solution to the problem when no-one would ever make that connection. It's probably worst in things with a strong sci-fi or magical element. A recent one that stuck in my mind was "They came out of the film, so if we film them again and overexpose it to light, that'll destroy them!" Wait, what?

and nine times out of ten its very selective amnesia because writers dont realize that actual amnesia often causes you to forget how to do things like tie your shoes, yet somehow they can still reprogram ancient lost technology

This is more of an RPG cliche than anything (not that it isn't invalid for this discussion), but I just couldn't help but find it appropriate you called it "Starting village."

Like "his village" works just fine but by including 'starting' you mean 'the start of the game.' So incredibly perfect.
