Pokémon Umbral Discussion 5: Gardevoirs Gone Wild!

To chip in on the speculation regarding Ruin pokemon and the Kimono Girls' universe, I doubt that Ruins are demonic in origin. AB said somewhere that they have something to do with the "Truth Behind Pokemon", and I think that that "truth" is going to be kept in-universe. Much better that way.

And besides, do we know that the Kimonos have already fought Ruin types? I know that Rio's lover seems to know a lot about them, but is there anything besides that?

Also, Impact isn't gonna get addicted to adrenaline boosts. He might get addicted to demon god's blood though. Perhaps he'll wish for a transformation himself.

Height: 5'2"; Weight: 129.7 lbs (I just picked these numbers randomly so for all I know the height/weight ratio is off and she's a stick figure. Corrections would be appreciated)
Think of her like he bastard child of a Luxray and a Dragonite, but with definite human female characteristics. Nagarai has a long slender build, and while she lacks visible breasts, you can see the curve of her bust. She stands on two legs and has three-clawed hands and feet. Her skin is blue, with a long lizard-like tail and large dark blue dragon wings on her back. Her face is very much like a human's; no snout, but no nose either, just slits for nostrils, two fangs poking out of her mouth, and piercing yellow eyes. She has long spiky black hair on her head, with similar tufts of fur on her shoulders and thighs. Running from her chest all the way down to the tip of her tail is a yellow-colored striated underbelly.

Personality: Nagarais are strong-willed Mistresses of Thunder, and usually difficult to catch since they like to short-circuit pokeballs. It's said that when their presence causes thunderstorms (I.E. Rain Dance). Pierce's Nagarai is relatively young by her species's standards, barely coming out of childhood, though she is very much older than Pierce. She's been in love with Pierce ever since she met him, though he never reciprocated. At first, he didn't want to catch her, but she stalked him for months, never leaving his side no matter how hard he tried to lose her, until he finally gave in and caught her. He figured she couldn't stalk him from a pokeball.

HMs: Fly, Cut, Defog, Rock Smash.

See why I was iffy on Nagarai? It's a bitchin' name alright, but Pierce's Nagarai isn't exactly bitchin'.

Yes, I went for a comedy pokemon. Fuck all if I'm going to let Renny and the NPCs take all the fun.

Though still, Rio didn't seem to know too much about them personally, just what she heard from Kijomi. I would be very disappointed if it turned out that Ruins were demonic in origin.

Well, she is a blonde. And while she's not a dumb blonde, she ain't the smartest pea in the pod. She's probably too busy flirting with everything that has a pulse to pay attention.

And me not liking the name is probably just my problem with this specific Nagarai. Others are probably all kinds of badass.

Why not give her an endearing nickname, or, better yet, have her want to be called by said nickname. She won't answer to anything else. Not sure what the nickname should be, but I'm envisioning the following:

Nagrai, use thunder!

I said thunder!
*silence*
Oh for god's sake... [Nickname, perhaps something along the lines of "Rainy" or "Raindrop"], use Thunder!

However, someone else could give her a nickname and she ends up liking it and won't answer to anything else.

Renny should be all over that. Oh what fun you will have! Although, Charlotte does seem to like nicknaming pokemon, especially after characters from books.

Well, I was thinking that she'd choose her own nick-name, or perhaps Pierce sarcastically calls her... I dunno, Sparky? and she likes it.

But yeah, we need to get Menarker in here. I'm not good at nicknames, and I don't think that Jack London ever mentioned a name that'd be appropriate for a thunder dragon of happiness, so Bard's out as well.
