[edit] how much gold do we get, and how much do monk's robes cost? Also...what would be a good weapon for my monk to use until my unarmed damage reaches 1d8?

Well, all the monk special weapons do 1d6 damage. Kama, Siangham, Nunchaku, Quarterstaff... unless you take the Eberron fighting style techniques, like Whirling Steel Strike (flurry with longsword) or Cobra Strike (flurry with spear)...
'Course, that's mixing worlds, whch might not be kosher. Quote:

are Shuriken part of the monk special weapons group?
Remember, I haven't played a fighter/monk before, no clue what to pick for feats and all!

I'll take the feat to use Shuriken eventually...daggers and bare fists will serve until then.
