You actually can't get the 'Perfect' ending without playing Multiplayer.

This may change with future DLC, but as of now, the Perfect ending (which requires you to choose 'Destroy' and is the only ending in which Shepard lives, which is kind of important) requires multiplayer matches.

When Bioware said "You don't need to play Multiplayer to get the 'Good' endings," they weren't technically lying! You see, there are three 'Good' endings, and in fact you can get any of those three endings through single-player completionism alone.

...It's just that there's also one 'Perfect' ending, and that requires several Multiplayer matches.

The Perfect ending only adds an additional silent 30 second scene that implies that Shepard is still alive; it really isn't worth it, for those of you who're wondering.

So I have a friend who is the best kind of stupid. He pre-ordered the game ages ago from EA's online store. However, when the game came out he totally forgot about his preorder and bought the game at EB Games. A few days later and he gets a second copy in the mail. So he offers to give it to me for free. I felt bad taking it for free and offered him $20 and some lunch so now I own the game.

Then, instead of hopping into the single player, we binged on the multiplayer for a while.

And by "a while" I mean I now have a level 18 Adept (singularity bombs (i.e. explode 'em with warp) are the best thing), and my galaxy readiness is at roughly 94%.

I bought two Specter packs (with credits, duh, fuck paying MS points for that shit) and unlocked a Quarian Engineer, a Quarian Infiltrator, and a Geth assault rifle, which isn't too shabby.

Anyway, enough rambling for me. Time for some sleep and then I'll hit the single player tomorrow and see if it really is as terrible as the internet claims.

I don't know if I would say that it's a reaction to the game being terrible, per se. I'd more say that pre-release worries about resources devoted to multi-player taking away from the development in other areas being vindicated, and the cathartic release from that. Also yeah, it's kind of bad. To compare it to another famous trilogy, I'd say it pretty much mirrors the original Star Wars trilogy pretty well in terms of quality, with ME3 definitely being this trilogy's Return of the Jedi.

Couldn't resist but to read the spoilers for the ending. Is there no better ending? Like say Defeating the reapers or something that's not Human Revolutions stupid?

I am a huge Fallout fan.

You do not know how many fucking keyboards were broken when the shitty Fallout 3 ending/oh look now it's slightly better: The DLC happened.

(and I still bought Broken Steel anyway, goddamn it)
(also thank god New Vegas' Endings are a billion times better and also an all around better game.)

I was joking, that's why I said "/worstlogic", because it's what Bioware wanted people to do. None of my posts on this thread since the Ashley discussion have been serious: I have no plans of getting ME3 and I'm basically just pointing and laughing at all the bad things going on with it.

Hahahha, the bioware writing staff are idiots did no one play through the game a realise just how poorly that was all executed like the dream sequences were just fucking terrible. Oh no the poor kid who I didn't get to learn anything about and watched die in the best parody of a tear jerker scene ever is haunting my nightmares! wait what...
