It's a good theory, but has quite a bit of speculation and Occam's Razor would tell us it's an illusion, especially since Belkar vetoes the rotting corpses smell.

Yeah... But I'm betting on Draconic blood. Everyone died at the same time. There's really only one big spell that makes sense in this regard.

Just re-read the comic where the spell is used.

Familicide kills everyone directly related to the target, then everyone directly related to the relations according to V. It's not everyone; just those two extensions. The Draketooths, even if they were related, wouldn't ALL be wiped out.

Not to mention that if that were what killed them, they aren't nearly decomposed enough for the timeline to match up. Even Roy's body had decayed almost completely to a skeleton, and that's without miscellaneous beetles chewing at him.
