The general consensus I'm getting is that it is by far the weakest Mass Effect game, with the endings ripped right off from Deus Ex and made stupid, but it is still a Mass Effect game. Although from what I see, there is a lot of little stupid/lazy/terrible things that just add up for me, and I have no interest at all in getting it personally.

I say wait for some sort of sale if you must play it.

The gameplay is by far the best in the series, and the build up to the end is also pretty great. Just find something to bite down on for when you're doing the ending.

Basically, there is shit to wade through, but you are missing out on some spectacular moments. In my opinion, a couple gems of gaming history.

Also the actual gameplay is pretty darn fun.

Well I'll decide once I finish my latest playthrough of ME2. Need to do it anyway for the saves I want.

e: btw, who out of those of you who have played the game agree with this review?

It's a good review. I am actually glad the mini-games were gone though, and enjoyed the cat-and-mouse Reaper "game." Too much focus on gameplay. It is quite fine. Almost all of my disappointment is with the story. I know the campaign gaming master racers will still think ill of the multiplayer but it's actually really good. It was also mandatory, so I can't begrudge Bioware too much. Just EA.

The more bits of this game I watch Youtube, the more it reminds me of Matrix Revolutions. I think that I will probably just skip this one.

Its a pretty safe assumption that if you liked ME2 you will like this one too, even if the ending is less than what it should/could be.

At most, i suggest waiting around for a bit, it's bound to get lower in price soon. At least you won't have to pay full price to enjoy what is pretty much a 90% Great game

Aaaaaaaaaaaand i'm gonna share this with you guys

I don't like it. Given the extent to which the player is immaterial to the development of the plot compared with 2, I really feel no personal involvement driving me to pick it up instead of just continuing to search out different scenes on Youtube until I get tired of how hamfisted and poorly written it is on the broad scale. 'Cause I've watched quite a bit of it now, and I gotta say Snake is pretty much totally right about player agency. A lot of the choices aren't even really choices. I'm finding lots of the dialogue much less organic as well. Multiplayer and improved combat mechanics aren't especially enticing to me with major deficiencies everywhere else.

As far as the endings go, that they're basically the same wouldn't even bother me if they were any good. It's totally reasonable to have many paths lead to the same destination. The journey is the answer and all that. It wouldn't make sense for the way this story goes though. The ending options are just silly - they reduce all of the complexity and subtlety in the topic of synthetic life to a set of options that range from goofy to not even making sense for the sake of having a closed ending. All these plot threads that have been built up for the last two games seem to just get fumbled at once. Shepard's martyrdom feels so forced it's painful.

I might still pick it up at some point, but probably not until I can find it for like, thirty dollars used.

ahn... guys, just a quick Brainstorm here.

In Mass Effect 2, right at the start, Miranda is Physically next to the illusive man at the Cerberus Base... right? She IS at their base. She knows where it is.

So... why does she need to place a Tracker on Kai Leng on Mass Effect 3 to lead you to Cerberus Base if it's still in the exact same place?

...anyone can clean this brainfart for me, please?
