Snake, don't worry, he'll voice Kanji in, y'know, all the other Persona 4 games.

Also: Rockpapershotgun has lost some of its credibility with me for not bitching enough about ME3.

Video Games Kai Leng sounds like a smug douche and that's exactly what he is.

On why the ending sucks, warning it's spoiler heavy.

Ahahahaha I feel so bad for the guy who uploaded this perfectly innocent video in 2011
Being indirectly responsible for destroying the Mass Effect trilogy is a terrible thing

Care to elaborate, Liz? Sounds like there's some data missing here.

e: because I'm not entirely sure why fan discontent would affect Amazon's policies, given that Amazon has no particular incentive to cater to their whims that I know of?

WTF Everything about the Geth proves that the Catalyst is full of shit.

I cannot have with people who defend the ending as such

because this is an ending where tinfoil hat "IT WAS ALL A LIE" theories are less of a stretch than a straight reading

and I'd like to think that fan pressure movements ought to be judged on the merits of their argument rather than swept under a blanket rule of "the customer is always right" or "the artists' vision(s) are sacred" (because I hate option B only slightly less)

but defending Mass Effect 3 overall on the grounds that the extraordinarily long game that preceded that bullshit was totally aces funtimes greatness is absolutely legit and in my judgement correct.

Which is a long way of saying that the Amazon thing tells me that someone, somewhere, has gone too far.

This is a load of bullshit, firstly it's a legal right in the UK to return any product that wasn't to the customers satisfaction within 21 days. Secondly ME3 pretty clearly wasn't sold as advertised and on those grounds you could get a refund outside of the 21 days.

You could make the argument that misleading/lieing hype isn't false advertising but that would also be bullshit. In every other industry if your product is considered shit you can return the product why does the gaming industry get it any easier.

ME3 was marketed as a third-person shooter with an overarching story about saving the universe, and even before the game released Bioware made several statements saying the ending would be divisive.

EDIT: As someone else pointed out, it's a small stretch from, "Give me a refund because I didn't like this one story element" to people asking for refunds because there were gay characters, and fuck that shit.

The other other thing that really bugs me about this is that a company offering refunds on a subjective element, like story, when you rarely, at best, can get refunds based on objective flaws like, "I glitched through the floor what the shit," says that the actual quality of a product is irrelevant. All that matters is how much and how loudly and how big of an asshole you are with your whining.

Pretty much the entire "Hey, the ending won't just be 'walk down a hallway, choose a button for your ending', your choices will matter!" turning out to be a straight-faced and disgusting lie is enough to demand your money back. It isn't really even a matter of not being aware of the ending, it was something they kept pushing up until the release date, when it was pretty much too late and they had your money.

Amazon comes out looking very customer aware and responsive in this. They eat a bit of cost to grow consumer trust and gratitude by a great deal.

I don't know what it is about Games that they have to be this special little snowflake on a mountain top. You can pretty much return anything on any basis what-so-ever to the store you bought it from and get money back. I think like..sex toys are the only universal exception cause, well, no shit.

And don't roll out that 'Well, it's entertainment and once you have already..' because you can return Books, CDs and Movies all day long if they were shit or you didn't enjoy them or for whatever reason.
