Omnislash would maybe, MAYBE, take down one of the immortals, who would then get up again a minute later, so... yeah. And, really, Kaim and Seth can both do 1/3 an omnislash every turn for a measly ten mp, as opposed to having to get beaten up for awhile first.

How about a Final Fantasy party (any one) against the party from Planescape: Torment?
Because really, this would just boil down to whether or not the FF characters count as being godlike. Otherwise, Nameless One, being immortal, just gets back up and raises his party members from the dead. The party from Torment would win simply from attrition unless the FF group finds a way to KILL WHAT CAN'T DIE. ...Sorry, just kinda trying to prove the title wrong.

Having killed a god or two, along with several weapons created by the planet itself, I think FFVII characters count as god-like. At the very least, they can SUMMON gods.

Garret vs. Raziel? Garret's a mortal thief who has to hide in the shadows and personally mentions that he is actually a wimp when it comes to fighting. His only strengths are being able to sneak around silently and quickly, and having a utility belt. Raziel is a wraith, a ghost that can manifest itself as a physical form and cannot truly be killed for the largest part because he can simply rez himself after some time in the spirit world. He can also see in the dark, having much of his former vampire skills yet none of the vampire's weaknesses. Garret's in a bind much like the FF7 team, except maybe moreso on account that he can't knock down a building with a single punch. Even if he kills Raziel, Raziel'll come back to haunt him, and his chances of killing Raziel are pretty slim. On the terms of Deus Ex Machina, however, Garret is a hero who defies fate and gets away with it, bigtime, whereas Raziel is stuck in the sort of immutable destiny of the Matrix, where he can't necessarily defy fate with his decisions, but rather choose how he perceives the why of his decisions. So, Garret wins at life, but in a fight with Raziel he's nearly sure to lose it. Unless of course he just happened to make friends with a pagan who had something to destroy Raziel for god with that very day... Snake vs. Fisher? Fisher's a bit more realistic, whereas Snake is more action film, giving Snake a physical and technical advantage, as he can dodge bullets. He's also a one man sneaking army while Fisher is mostly just an opsat ninja who is more about getting in, getting data, and getting the hell out. In terms of straight combat, Snake's strength for the win (he beat the crap out of a cyborg ninja! Who was shown to be strong enough later to hold up a metal gear!) In terms of stealth, fisher can only hide where there is shadow and serious obstacles, whereas Snake has consistently hidden just about anywhere. Of course, the new splinter cell game aims to change that, but y'know. In terms of gadgets, most of Fisher's are both nonlethal and weakened from the silencer. Snake has a Nikita missile launcher, and somehow carries much more things on him than Fisher ever could. The best Fisher could do is find a nice spot to lie in wait and snipe down Snake, but odds are if the first 1 or 2 shots don't put Snake down, Fisher's fupped!

Fayt from Star Ocean 3 against...Hmm... Stahn Aileron, from Tales of Destiny. Anyone? My bet's on Fayt.

I have a contest. Since people are obsessed with FF Parties here is one.
Any FF Party vs an inanimate object that cannot be moved. No matter what you do to it, there is always a chair, or a tree blocking your path. And considering we are going via RPG fights, these chairs are obvious impervious to anyhting less then total destruction of the planet. |

Unless it's just a competition where the inanimate object is blocking the FF party; in that case they simply need to go through a different path, often past a major waterway or around the edge of a continent. How about this matchup: Metal Gear Rex vs a Mad Cat battlemech. OR alternatively, a Metal Gear Gecko (those things from MGS4) vs a Tau Crisis Suit with missile pod and plasma gun?
