"I know. Ain't I an ass?"
Angel smiled, then his focus snapped squarely back on Wraith. "So, out of curiousity, where ya' from? I know very little about you, and Wolf wouldn't applaud my hacking your file. So...family, history, bad habits, give me all the good stuff. Please."

'Don't worry about the car,' hell I'm driving the car
Wolf was in a slight daze as he walked away from the standoff and headed for the car. He wasn't too happy with himself. He could understand why Scrya wanted to face these asassins alone...but at the same time he was mad that he had allowed himself to be talked into it. He got in the Trans-Am and began to drive down the block, deciding he would just go back and forth until this matter was resolved. However, the more he thought, the more uneasy he became. This isn't right. I don't care how fast or powerful she is, she can't face four of them at once. I understand there are probably many personal reasons at hand for her decision...but it still isn't right. She's an ally and I'm leaving her behind. And besides which...who's to say they'll fight her all at the same time? They have to know I have that data...they're not going to let me leave here alive. Sooner or later, I'm going to have to fight them. He was about three blocks away before he began to turn around. I'd rather it be sooner. He began to slowly make his way back to the standoff. As he did so, he took the memory key from his PDAP and inserted it into the car's central computer. There it would be safe. ***(OOC: It's going to be a couple minutes between leaving and returning, so don't get really mad about this Zeph.) (Now we go live to elsewhere) "I'm guessing that information is going to carry a price." Kaitiln asked the raven.

"Nah It's christmas. Where is your christmas spirit. First I'm going to help you with what you're doing so we can go and kick Mastermind's ass once and for all." The raven began to groom himself on Kaitlin's shoulder.

(( I thought we only had a few hours at most or something, instead of days...? >_> [/nitpick] ))
(( Apologies for spelling/grammar mishaps here and there, I don't feel like proofreading this... )) The First Order people stiffened when Wolf walked past them, but Scrya had stamped her foot slightly, making them stop and look back at her. Therefore, he was able to walk unharassed to the car and drive away... driving away as she thought to herself, "I TOLD him not to worry about it... ugh!" Her eyes break off from the car, though, as a few scuffing sounds draw her attention back to the people in front of her. Two men, one woman. And behind her, another man. She knows all of them by name... had trained three of them... and lain alongside the last as they both were the first to be assimilated with their nanites, becoming the first in a line of personal bodyguards and assassins devoted to Mastermind. Ironic that they also became the two greatest soldiers Mastermind had ever created... outside of Myth. "Scrya..." the man says, a wry grin appearing on his face. "It's been a long time. I just heard you were still alive a few days ago." She stands still for a time, steadying her breathing and collecting her thoughts. "I'd hoped we wouldn't see each other again..." she finally manages to say, softly though still easily audible to them. "But I guess it's just inevitable." A moment passes between them as they stare into each other's eyes, a newspaper blowing by beside them while a man chases it down the steps leading up to the tower. All around them, the sidewalk is clear, reducing the probability of collateral damage to nearly nothing... at least, speaking in terms of human life. She doesn't have to look down to remember what he looks like... tall, black, dressed usually in something simple like slacks and no shirt, extremely muscular... Suffice to say, he makes Triple H look like a stickman. With shoulders broad as a football player's and a chest round as a barrel, he certainly looks like he can punch through a brick wall. She always had a thing for that bald head, too... smooth to the touch, easy to feel right straight down to his lips, where... "Yeah. Inevitable." He snaps a finger and the two assassins to his sides leap out at her, striking with blinding speed. In defense, she simply steps back and begins slapping both of them away with her arms and hands, twisting a bit to each side as they strike. After a few blocks and parries she manages to twist up each of their arms in hers -- much to their surprise -- and leaps up and backflips, twisting their arms into a lock as she lands. Then, she kneels down and pulls her arms back and releases, sending both of them flying head over heels into the steps behind her. It's now that the man with the sword strikes, but she does a ballet dance of dodges and ducks that ends with her eventually lifting a leg up to kick away the sword, then spinning with a high roundhouse that connects with his head faster than he can move to block. Assuming an offensive stance as the three of them spin back to their feet, she readies to take them on again, but the large man behind her exclaims, "Well... you made that look easy." A grin spreads over her face. "I did train them." Hearing his fist fly towards her from behind, she leans sideways and reaches out to grab it, catching hold of his forearm as his other arm swings to connect with her midsection. She barely manages to twist her body sideways to avoid his punch, but he then whips his caught arm sideways and tries to throw her off. She'd forgotten how strong he actually is. Her feet leave the ground for a split second as his arm -- and her -- are whipped to the side, but she finds footing again and manages to muscle her way back to the ground and match power with him to stay on the concrete. Grunting at her show of strength, he snarls, "The only person I know who could ever match me..." "Match..." she asks, squaring her feet. A smile spreads across her face then as she finishes, "Or surpass?" She then shoves back against him with a grunt of her own, and manages to actually push him away by a step. By then, though, the others get back into the fight... the one with the sword getting back into it first. She hears him coming as she shoves back, but waits until the right moment, listening to the wind whistling towards her... when she then breaks her hold suddenly and leaps back, letting the man fly straight past her and towards the street below. He spins and lands on his feet, but his friends continue the attack by leaping right after him, and straight into a trap. Before they can realize that their nanites have been turned off, their heads smack into the steps and open large wounds, but those wounds can't compare to the ones they're about to get. As the EMP grenade shattered and exploded, Scrya had leapt into the air, flying up towards the sword that she'd kicked back into the air just before letting the grenade go off. With one hand she catches it and looks back to the ground, where she sees all three of the assassins looking stunned and confused. The one to her left gets the sword through her heart, while the one to her right has his neck slit and heart pierced in two moves by her. Both die fast and in shock, in disbelief of what just happened. It's the third who's a little smarter, who rushes at her with a wakizaki armed. She parries the strike easily, but her sword merely bounces off his chest when she tries to strike. Looking up into his tensed, though smiling face, she says, "Oh. You're quicker than they were." Then, she backs off with a light leap backwards, landing on the steps a few up. She readies her sword to her side, training her eyes on the man below, but then draws it over her shoulder to block the large man's attack. Spinning around and slashing her sword in a circle like a top, she watches as he dodges that strike and prepares to move again, obviously still augmented. She doesn't have the time to consider that he'd leaped far sideways to avoid the grenade blast, instead having to focus on the large man attacking her from the front. Amid all the flurries of blurry punches, kicks, and swings of the sword, none of the three notice Wolf's car pulling back up from down the street, or the disbelieving stares of the people down the street watching the chaos. Some even run in terror after hearing the grenade blast. Somehow, in all the chaos of the sword fighting and punching, the original man with the sword had managed to get himself caught between them, and is now trying to avoid being hit by both as Scrya uses him as a semi-buffer to maneuver the large man into all sorts of ridiculous situations and attacks that have to go around the man in the middle to get at her. For a while, she's almost having fun, but for all the stupidity of the move, it manages to distract the man in the middle long enough for her to ram his sword straight through his side, piercing his heart. While he gasps for air, she then takes his other short sword and rams it into his abs with his hand still attached, then steps back and releases as both she and the black man back up, letting the poor fellow drop dead gasping for wind. Meanwhile, Wolf is within sight distance. ***

Glancing over at the car, the black man nods with his head and says, "Looks like your boyfriend's back." "He's not my boyfriend," she replies sternly without even turning to look, but no matter how much she tries to contain herself, she can't hold back the quiver in her voice as she adds, "You know that." Breathing for a moment longer as Wolf pulls to a stop, he answers, "I know." It's then that he tries to attack her again, but she blocks his punch squarely with her hands, stopping it centimeters away from her heart as she tenses her body stiffly. Now it's her turn. With one powerful movement, she shoves back and throws him vertically with all her strength, sending him back towards the tower building in the distance. The man is sent flying over a dozen meters, but he lands on his feet just in front of the large double doors as a man in a suit steps outside. Predictably, he screams as the three-hundred-pound, six-and-a-half footer monster lands in front of him and cracks the concrete. The black man whirls around to look at him with a glare and a growl, then faces forward again to look at her standing down from him on the steps while Wolf gets out of his car, looking ready to fight. As the moment passes like an eternity between them, Scrya's eyes drift to her feet, where she looks upon the three bodies there as Wolf rushes up towards her. "My own students..." she says, sticking an arm out to stop Wolf's halfway running. After pausing for a while she adds with a tone of sadness in her voice, "It's unfair when a student faces her own master... when her master knows all her weaknesses..." Looking up to face him, she adds, "Especially when they never properly finished their training. He knew I'd here, so he sent them..." From the corner of her eye she sees that the black man is turning to leave, and Wolf looks impatient to go after him, even going so far as to take a step until she stops him again. "No. No, don't follow him..." She looks back to the tower as the man walks inside, passing the frightened old man spazzing out in front of the door. "Our fight's over for now... but we'll finish it later." The man takes a few wide steps forward, but then pauses and seems to hesitate. Her eyes widen a bit and look up then as he turns around, facing her again. In a whisper he says, "Later, Scrya... then it can all be over." "Later..." she answers in a whisper, nodding her head back at him slightly. He pauses for another second, then spins back and walks through the crowd, away from the both of them. For a second she wonders how weird that must've seemed to Wolf... (( Y'know what, I just realized that the black man and Scrya never once actually hit each other, nor the other three... heck, nobody hit anybody until the grenade went off... O_o Weird, man, weird... )) (( I must be too tired or something, don't even feel like proofreading... >_> ))

Although the entire incident confused him slightly, Wolf understood it. She had no choice but to fight her former students...and she had killed them even though they were sent into a battle they could not have won. Mastermind had tried to force her hand...and the result was that both sides lost.
War sucks, he thought before his thoughts turned to the black man. Obviously he and Scrya had a past connection...but it seemed that she was past that. Still, more confusion came to mind. If they were after the data...why did he just leave? Suddenly the sounds of police sirens interrupted his thoughts. "Sounds like the LAPD's coming in to investigate" he said to Scrya, "We'd better get out of here." He got back in the Trans-Am and waited for her to get in.

OOC: Yeah see I didn't leave early, I was just busy...packing...yeah..*mutters*goodexcuse. Anyways, after deliberating over all of this, I've decided that everyone except Wraith and Jade can finish their missions and Zeph and I will finish ours when I get back. If you all finish before I get back (around the 14th of January) just sit tight until then. Have a happy holidays everyone!!

OOC: (bows) Good decision, bg. Now onto a small matter. Dante, Zeph had it right. We only have mere hours before Mastermind succeeds in getting the codes. However, you can easily fix the time problem.
Now back to the show! BIC: Kaitiln thought about what exactly it was she had been sent to do. Basically it was to try and find a way to locate Mastermind. That part was accomplished, and unfortunately the assault would have to wait. As she thought about that, she realized there was something else that could be done right now. Quickly hacking Mastermind's logistics systems, she got the info she was looking for. "Mastermind has a bunch of satellite bases, in case his main one was ever attacked," she said to the raven. "Is it possible for you to shut down the exit nodes to his other bases to keep trapped in his main one? This way, once we attack, he won't be able to retreat...and we'll have the upper hand." She paused for a second. "Oh, can I also have the location of his main base while were on the subject?"

(( I didn't forget about you, SS, those last two posts just knocked me out. @_@ ))
Wraith smiles a bit and sits back in his chair, chuckling once or twice. "Well, don' really have any family... I'm an orphan, raised as an orphan, and always will be one. I jus' lived off the streets once they let me out, and that's how I was... jus' a street punk 'til I got in the military. An'..." He shrugs. "That's what I been doin' since then: espionage and assassination. Not much to tell, really..." Sitting back again to look at Angel, he then asks with a little grin, "What about you? Anything I should know that they left outta the personnel files?" *** (( Wolf: I wanted to do something before they left, something she wouldn't have want to have left undone before she left. >: You just screwed me up. *reads your last post anyway before doing the next IC post* )) EDIT: (( Aaaaand I have nothing new to add to the thread from her side... *whistles* )) (( This post brought to you by a soundtrack of Rage Against the Machine's Vietnow and Revolver. )) EDIT 2: (( Addendum: it's not unfixable, I just thought you'd gimme a little time to do something... or... yeah... >.> *poof!* ))

OOC: Oops...hm...hang on, I'll edit my second-to last IC post in order to add a believeable amount of time for you to put in whatever you needed to, and then advance time to now. Will that work?
